I personally look for 10 high standard qualities in a hotel unfortunately this hotel only had 4 and some of my 3 weeks 2 of those high standard qualities didn’t work one being the WiFi and the other being breakfast and pizza kitchen but by the time I left the kitchen got fixed but the WiFi still wasn’t working. The other 2 high standards were the shower in my room (10) and 3 members of staff David (cook, hotel manager), Deiane (waitress), and a new guy who hasn’t been there long I had been told his name but don’t know how to spell it (hotel manager, waiter, cleaner)these people were fantastic but other members of staff seemed rude or unresponsive especially a Ali (owner, sit on bum guy). “Room” bed very uncomfortable and wasn’t made on a daily basis, very dusty had to clean own toilet. “Food” Pizza very high quality breakfast David was very good at doing poached eggs after the first day of trying to tell me he didn’t do them. “Rest of the hotel” maintenance lots of lightbulbs out lots of cobwebs in stairwell I did see some vacuuming being done but not very much all in all bad hotel

Had an amazing couple of nights stay. From walking into reception, everything was top class. The food in the restaurant was so delicious, reasonably priced & portions were very generous. Breakfast (included in price), was full of choice. Every member of staff was so helpful, polite & pleasant. We didnt use any of the facilities, as had made plans for a bit of sight-seeing & catching up with friends. Clean & tidy. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Dan ,James and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome, it’s the first time we have stayed at this hotel, but have always used the cafe every time we have been to Great Yarmouth. The staff are first class, the hotel has a very friendly feel to it and the bedrooms are fitted out very comfortably, (we stayed in room 3 which had a sea view). The food is first class with a varied menu and presented to a high standard.I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again

Another 4 great nights at The Willows with Gary and Taro. We have been there countless times and never been disappointed. We were some of the first guests when they opened, and have been going back ever since. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is the best. You will not leave the table wanting. We started going there as guests and now we go back now as friends.

Cheap but not cheerful

Reviewed By holmfirth1979

The hotel although close to the main attractions was of a much needed renovation, the young staff were friendly and helpful but the facilities were very poor. We stayed in room 1 and the first evening we wanted a a shower to freshen up but due to such low pressure I could have done better standing in the rain , the shower head was full of lime scale and leaked in 2 places before what was left finally came through the dirty shower head . On our morning I was awoken at first light 4:35 am as they only had a roller blind that did not stop any light from entering the room and no curtains. We were told as we arrived on the Sunday morning that they would be serving Sunday roast from 12-20.00 hours but when we went at 17:30 was told by a staff member that their was no roasts available so we made a second choice of which we were also told they didn’t have, so we had only 2 choices available ( burger and a veg lasagna ) which came dry and clearly over cooked in the microwave . We also had a similar disaster when we ordered a drink and was told after my first pint they had no more left as they only had 1 barrel . We were very disappointed by the lack of basic amenities here and what they did have was not working correctly. On our 2nd day we decided we would not use the property’s bar or food and were glad when our trip was due to end at this property. Cheap and cheerful did come to mind but it was not cheerful for us. The property is in need of some renovations to bring it up to the basic and acceptable standards that I believe most people would expect that even premier inn offers.

Don't do it

Reviewed By rosinal964

OK so the positives its a 2 minute walk to the seafront. Negatives very noisey, WiFi is very intermittent, never any staff around, the lift is tiny and knackered, building is in disrepair, "free parking" is a handful of spaces on the road outside normally full with day trippers and coaches. The whole building stinks of weed they are down and outs sitting on the steps in the evenings. No food served but that's a blessing in disguise when you get in there. So as said before this hotel is used by the council for the homeless etc. I did not know this when booking. I do not work all year to pay for a holiday to stay in a doss house which is basically what it is in a room next to a person who clearly never has worked a day in their lives and listen to them blasting a TV all day and night it was so loud I might as well of been with them in their room. The whole atmosphere in the hotel is pretty grim. On the last night we were treated to 2 police cars and a van screeching to a halt outside the hotel and taking away one of the "residents" in cuffs. My husband wanted to leave at that point but as it was quite late and we had a long journey and 1 more day in town left we double locked the door and stuck it out. They should just turn this place in to a hmo and be done with it. We left early each morning and came back as late as possible to avoid being here horrible atmosphere and honestly did not feel safe couldn't wait to leave. Please do your self a favour and find anywhere else to stay. You have been warned.
