Booking lost - Rude and not professional at all
Reviewed By 766dariovWe tried to book a 2 days stay in this nice-looking hotel weeks in advance by asking to use the Italian holiday voucher we had received from the IT gov. After our first, as we made sure they had availability for our two days, encouraged by the hotel staff, we confidently sent the hotel office an email with our details and our voucher unique code. As I did not hear back from them after two days, I called them back and they told me everything was fine, and they were just waiting for one of their employee to get back to work after being on sick leave to validate our holiday code. After an additional week, they never sent an email nor called me back to finalize the booking. I then decided to call them again, but they never acknowledged my booking. They claimed they never received my email (I quoted them hour and day straight out of my gmail) and that, of course, there were only more expensive rooms left to book. Plus, they added they do not accept IT gov issued voucher and they proopsed me to pay in full and then wait for a refund. Utterly unprofessional, they left us with accommodation 10 days before departure rushing to book anything while prices were. Being professional, kind and understanding in the hospitality business is paramount: if you can't be any of those, you better change job

Reviewed By 580dominiquebFirst Dolomites are a crazy nice place. We spent 7 days in Castel Latemar. I’m a biker and every thing is organized to make our life easy. Road book with very good itinerary. Garage for motorbikes. Guided tour. The location itself is amazing with a nice view in all direction Rooms are great, people are kind and nice. Food is simple and tasty. For sure, we will come back

We are situated at the foot of the Latemar, a 5 minutes drive from the ski resort Obereggen with almost 50 kilometers of slopes and a snowpark with nightpark. In summer you can explore the Dolomites by bike and motorbike or hike the most beautiful mountains in the world. The Rider Hotel Steakhouse brings the meat enjoyment to a new level. Reviewed By J MWe reserved a table for lunch and I really have nothing good to say about this place. Service was slow. Food not great. Portions were small. Price was high. The only nice thing about this place is the location. If you are hungry, don't go here.

Reviewed By victoriaxyzLove the magical location of Tiers which is under the NP Rosengartengruppe. The hotel has a lovely spa fun game room, super friendly owner and high quality/price ratio. The in-house HP is a good deal. I wish they could offer some gourmet choices at extra charge, such as a la carte menu and fresh squeezed orange juice. If you are not picky about food, this is a great base for exploring this part of the Dolomites for 3-4 days.

Reviewed By eranu2013Located above Nova Lavente, great base for MTB trips. We've had six perfect riding days, guided by hotel staff Sonya and Max. After riding: Jacuzzi, dinners or barbecue in the garden, quiet conversations in the lobby/bar and off to sleep in the comfortable rooms. Waking up to the wonderful view of the mountains, reach breakfast and out for another great riding day.

Reviewed By Alpinelover49Stayed at this lovely Gasthof for 6 nights, did all our mountain hikes from there. Food was excellent, and service was very good. Very reasonable priced. Needed a lunch for our hikes, and they were ready every morning for us to take in to the mountains. Other visitors were very friendly and had some nice conversations. Would highly recommend this place to anyone, and would stay again when we go back to the Dolemites.

The room was lovely and clean and comfortable and for a very reasonable price. The deck was a great addition. Breakfast was typical european and very good. Herta was extremely helpful in finding us hiking maps and her concern for our safety was appreciated. Would recommend this BandB. The town is an excellent stopping point for hiking and skiing. The lift takes you up to further lifts for spectacular views of the Dolomites

Lucky stop in the unspoilt Val d'Ega
Reviewed By Aussies11We were driving to our cousins in the Dolomites when we lost our way and our car brakes smelt like they were burning. Having just past the village of Obereggen, we decided to turn back and spend the night at Gasthof Specker. Even though we only wanted to stay one night, the hosts kindly offered us the half board rate which included double room, dinner and breakfast. There was a choice of two dishes for entree, main and dessert; also a large bowl of salad between courses. The food was very good, apart from the roast veal which was average. The room was comfortable, well furnished and had a door leading to a small terrace. Breakfast the next morning was excellent with yoghurt, cereals, assortment of breads including rye and the traditional dark grain bread from the Dolomites with aniseed, cheese and speck. This is a family-run business and the hosts were friendly and helpful as they gave us indications for reaching our destination. All in all we were happy to have stayed at Specker. The location is extremely scenic - from the property you can see the Latemar group, Corno Bianco and Corno Nero peaks. The total cost was 113.30 which also included two glasses of wine, a grappa and a few postcards.
