Dated, creepy and in the middle of nowhere

Reviewed By Brett M

My partner and I stayed at this B&B while attending a wedding at the nearby Berkeley castle. This is not a hotel, in my opinion it isn't really a B&B. This felt like we were at a family friends home. If you aren't after a truly unforgettable taste of life in a country manor then this isn't for you. We were greeted by a wonderful lady named Jane and two beautiful jack Russells who were very playful, hot drinks and cakes were offered on arrival and instead of being ushered into our rooms Jane sat with us and we chatted for a while. We were shown to our room which was very large and dated, no mod cons, just an extremely comfy bed and a beautiful view, needles to say we loved it. We stayed in 'The Blue Room' and so had a separate bathroom which looked recently refurbished, again with a wonderful view and a very extravagant bath. Breakfast was amazing, they offer a choice of duck or hen eggs, and we settled down at a very grand table in a truly beautiful dining room. The resident billy goat had free roam of the grounds and was extremely friendly, as were the cats. This house is old, creepy and dated. We loved it all, in our opinion this truly represents a Cotswold home with great hospitality, great food and an even better nights sleep.

Underhill House

So convenient for the Cotswold Way

Reviewed By AnnieOak

Underhill House is right on the Cotswold Way! We enjoyed the luxury of spacious rooms with plenty of hanging space to air our clothes and a superb ensuite shower room. Everything was very clean and bright. We needed an early start the following day and the landlady reluctantly agreed to serve breakfast at 7.15 am, although the 3 of us were the only guests staying. We had a good evening meal at the Italian restaurant just round the corner because the Old Spot pub no longer serves evening meals. We would recommend Underhill House for it's convenience to the Cotswold Way and the town of Dursley.

Waterend Farm

Waterend Farm is a working sheep farm in the Severn Valley, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Guests are very welcome to explore the farm with us and to meet our sheep and Shetland ponies. Bedrooms are spacious, traditionally furnished and are all en-suite. Delicious home cooked breakfasts, made using local produce, are served in the beamed dining room. The farm is conveniently situated close to the M5, between junctions 13 and 14, and has a local railway station. There is ample on site car parking. Nearby there is plenty to see and do - Berkeley Castle, Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, Woodchester Mansion, Westonbirt Arboretum, Badminton Horse trials and much more.

Good traditional farmhouse b & b

Reviewed By Mike J

We spent a night at this working sheep farm/bed and breakfast and found the room clean and comfortable and attractively furnished in an antique style which suited this lovely traditional farmhouse beautifully. The breakfast room was very atmospheric and the breakfast (which is ordered the night before) was well presented and freshly cooked. The owner Hilary was very pleasant and helpful. The only problem we encountered was that b&b was fully booked due to a wedding and unfortunately there was insufficient hot water for all guests to be able to shower at the time we wanted to so you may need to bear this in mind and arrive earlier than we did.

Foresters

Friendly and comfortable

Reviewed By JamesBanfield

I stumbled across this B&B by accident and I was very pleased that I did. The owner was very friendly and couldn't do enough for me. The room was warm and comfortable and the breakfast was really tastey. I would highly recommend especially as it was only 60 pounds for the night.
