Beautiful stay, will definitely be back

Reviewed By 142aoifem

We had a great weekend celebrating our first wedding anniversary at the hotel. We were upgraded on arrival and a card and box of chocolates were waiting in the room for us. The staff could not have been more attentive. The food was excellent and the massage treatments went down a treat (especially at 6 months pregnant) The room was quiet. There were 2 weddings during our stay but our sleep was never disturbed. The boat rental was also a great bonus to the trip. An amazing, relaxing time. Thank you so much

Avoid if Wedding on

A stay of two halves. I couldn't wait to get off the island after the first night but thankfully had a more pleasant experience the second night. Checking in. At check in we were overcharged £40. This was rectified next day with credit to the room. But nobody could tell me where the miscalculation had occurred. . I was asked had we chosen our breakfast and dinner times and I said no we have just arrived. Told I should have received a call the day before to sort this. I received no such call. Offered 7.30 or 10 for breakfast ie. the very start or very end of breakfast. Room was fine. No cover on back of tv remote and missing a battery, surely should have been noticed had housekeeping cleaned the remote. Dinner time. Seated right away but it was approx 15 minutes before an order was taken. Server said a crowd of wedding guests had landed in the bar at the same time and had to sort them first. Drink and food ordered at same time and no more than two minutes later the food arrived. To me this suggests the food is sitting waiting to be dished out rather than partly cooked fresh. Saying that the food was grand but for what you get maybe a bit on the pricey side. When finished I went to pay in bar, which had been taken over by wedding guests. Some other residents trying to eat & drink in bar that looked annoyed about this. Let the fun begin. We soon realised that our room was in a courtyard house with the two other rooms being filled by wedding guests. Our room was the one beside the front door. Every door in the house slammed shut. Our room was also the first on a path between the wedding venue and lodges further on down the island. Between 9pm and 2.45am we had a constant of slamming doors, loud noise and general nuisance. At 2.45am after someone stood outside our door roaring up the stairs to those in the room above we were finally able to get some sleeping having originally turned the lights of at 11pm. A little logistical planning would tell you not to put normal residents in a house with wedding guests or maybe even in the same area. Breakfast the next morning was another shambles. Seated right away and offered cups of tea or coffee. Two cups of tea arrived quickly but no milk. No milk was required as the tea was on its own look warm. 10 minutes passed before we were given the trio of small bites and a further 15 minutes passed before an order for full breakfast was taken. At no stage did we have the same member of staff back at the table, which suggests nobody had taken responsibility for our table and probably why we were left so long. Meanwhile those from the previous nights wedding party couldn't get enough attention from the staff. On way back to room. I spotted multiple glasses strewn around the resort from the previous nights wedding. Back to the room and I thought at last I can get off the island but one more thing just to make my experience more of a nightmare. Housekeeping arrived to see to the two rooms above us. But right outside our room they had a phone/radio blasting out music as they cleaned upstairs. I wouldn't have liked to have been relaxing in my room. Arrived back later that evening hoping and praying there was no wedding on and to my delight there wasn't. The bar and restaurant had a nice gentle buzz about it with all the residents enjoying the good weather and the start of the long Jubilee weekend. More respectful residents in the house for the 2nd night of our stay. Breakfast the next morning was much better. Milk with our tea, trio of bites arrived right away and we made sure to order right away when these arrived. We had pushed empty plates to side to suggest that these were finished but our breakfast plates were shoved on the table with mine being left dangling over the edge. Only later did another member of staff come and remove the empty plates leaving the table more comfortable for eating space. If I were ever to go back again I would first be ringing to check if there was a wedding booked in for the same night.

Great weekend

Stayed here as a base for visiting tourist spots ie Glencar waterfall, Sligo, Drumshanbo distillery. What great staff they have, the manager Connor is excellent and the whole team are friendly and work so well together. We had a suite looking out the front over the park opposite (nice view), it is well decorated, with an open wardrobe and full facilities. The ensuite has a big bath with rain fall shower over it and the WC is seperate. We ate in the restaurant both nights, the food was superb and extremely well priced. The wine list has a great choice and is priced from £16 to £26, unless you go for something like champagne. The breakfast has a buffet table of cereals, fruit, etc and you order the cooked breakfast. The wheaten bread is cooked by them and they supply the local shop. Now found we will go back when it that area in the future or even if we want a break!

Fabulous!!!!

Reviewed By joyceb97

My husband and I stayed for one night in this fabulous Bed and breakfast with friends. We had a warm welcome from Jackie who was very friendly and showed us to our amazing room. Jackie’s knowledge of the area was excellent and very helpful. Although Necarne Manor is in the grounds of Necarne Castle it is 10 mins walk from the busy little town of Irvinstown, it is also close to all the tourist attractions of Fermanagh and beyond. We had everything in our room that was needed. The room had a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities. A sitting area with flat screen tv. The room was very bright with 3 windows overlooking the driveway and car parking area. We were encouraged to use the communal lounge that was both bright and relaxing. In fact we made coffee in our room and joined friends in the lounge. The following morning after a very quiet nights sleep we went for breakfast. For breakfast there was the usual help yourself juice, cereals and we ordered a cooked breakfast which was freshly cooked. The breakfast was very relaxing and afterwards Jackie and her husband joined us for a chat. It was lovely to stay within walking distance of the town but then retreat to the quiet of the Manor. We are so pleased to have come across this wonderful bed and breakfast. We would definitely recommend a stay here if visiting the area. Thank you to Necarne Manor for a wonderful stay
