ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS B & B

Reviewed By 937georgec

We stayed for 2 nights when touring the Causeway Coast . The experience staying at Cullentra House is certainly equivalent to any 4* or 5* hotel that we have stayed in .The reviews and awards they have received say it all .. it is an absolutely fabulous B & B and I would 100% recommend it to any tourists planning to visit the Causeway Coast & the Glens of Antrim. Olive & James are impeccable hosts and attention to detail is there to be seen .. the place is spotlessly clean and tidy , the rooms were very comfortable and finished to a very high standard .. free view television and excellent wi fi . The dining room settings were outstanding and would grace any fine dining restaurant. The breakfast menu had a very extensive choice .. plus Olives amazing homemade cake and scones .. we opted for the Ulster fry and it was absolutely delicious and very generous portions . From the garden we had a beautiful view of Cushendall Bay & the surrounding countryside .. we certainly look forward to staying again on our next visit to the Glens

Fabulous!

Stayed just for one night but was so tempted to stay for a second!!! We were given a choice of room in their new modern building. Decided to take up the free upgrade. It was just wonderful! Some tweaks still needed - struggled to get electric blind to work, bath mat didn’t fit under shower door and no where to hang a second wet towel but minor complaints in what is a wonderful suite! My only real advice would be to improve pictures. Many pictures look really old fashioned when in fact in the main building it isn’t old fashioned just old and beautiful!! I almost didn’t book it because of the pictures and that would have been a huge mistake!!! Wonderful breakfast delivered to our room the next morning though could have eaten in dining room.

Clean, New, and Very Nice

Reviewed By Aslanschild2

Our spacious room was spotless, the owners friendly and kind. What more can one ask? Not a quaint place, and no view (it's on the main highway through town), but more like a spanking clean, fully refurbished motel you sometimes see in the U. S. We appreciated all the outlets, the ample desk, and the small refrig for our berries and milk. The King-sized bed was adequately firm, new-seeming, and comfortable. Shower water was too hot and couldn't seem to be made cooler. That would be the only ding, no big deal. We just missed breakfast, but the staff were gracious and brought out a very nice meal for us. Everyone could not have been nicer, nor this lodging more perfect for busy, tired travelers.

Disappointing return visit

Reviewed By Kellypf

Stayed in this B&B last year and delighted with room at that time but the difference a room can make to your experience. This time stayed in rm 6 with friend . Had asked for twin beds as we did not want to share . Got large double bed and a small cot size bed . Room was very old , unkept, wallpaper coming off , dirty corners , a lot of cobwebs ( not new ones) and the bathroom is well unfit for purpose. Its disappointing for me to write this review as staff are really friendly and it is a good location . The room needs stripped and completely redecorated and a new bathroom. It may be cheaper than a hotel however rooms need to be at least fit for purpose . Once this is sorted will def be a good place to stay as they have everything else right.

Beautiful ocean views

Our stay at Carnside was perfect! The location was very convenient for our visit to Giant's Causeway, which is a quick easy walk. Upon arrival, we asked about dining options nearby, and immediately Ann made a call to the nearby Bushfoot Golf Club, to see if they had room for us that evening, and suggested we make the 40 minute walk along the oceanside path and return via taxi. The rooms are lovely and clean, with all the amenities you may need, and we had the bonus of a view of the neighbouring seaside towns directly from our bed. The breakfast was delicious and a great start to our busy day! Be sure to book an hour in the hot tubs, at sunset if you can, the view over the ocean is unbelievable! If we ever are lucky enough to visit Northern Ireland again, we will absolutely stay at Carnside! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful place to stay

Very clean, comfortable room with welcome brownies and fluffy dressing gowns. Lovely facilities, views and just about the best host you could ever wish for in Natasha. Nothing was any trouble to her and when they say dog friendly, the mean dog very friendly. We also had our 16 month old grandson with us and he was nearly as welcome as the dogs?. Breakfast was excellent, varied and plentiful. Juices, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, jam and a great Ulster fry. Felt so welcome and was able really relax - thank you so much Natasha from Trew, Michael, baby Fíonn and the two dogs, oonagh and Aoife.

Funeral

Reviewed By Review004

My partner and his Brother stayed here for 4 nights, for a close relatives funeral (they live in England). Myself and my 3 children came over on the Wednesday morning of the funeral. Carol was very accommodating, she let us use a room to get dressed in (our funeral clothes), and she cooked us breakfast (we had travelled 8 hours on the ferry). She is a very lovely lady, the rooms are beautiful and clean, breakfast was yummy. When we go over again, we shall stay here without a doubt. Thanks Carol xx
