The best available Bed and Breakfast Inns to stay near Birmingham

April 24, 2023 Enedina Augsburger

The geographical heart of England, Birmingham started life as a sixth- century Anglo-Saxon village. Today, much of this city of over a million dates back to post-WWII redevelopment in the 1950s and 60s. Cutting edge museums and galleries, innovative theaters and excellent shopping have contributed to Birmingham's appeal as a weekend break destination. Don't miss the hopping bars and cafes of Gas Street Basin or the fascinating creatures at the National Sea Life Centre.

The pub was great and the bouncer on a Saturday night was very kind and professional. He was helping people get taxis and making sure they were okay, which was appreciated. I would definitely visit again.

Can't rate this place highly enough, we had such a lovely stay here. The owners made us feel so at home. Like family. Nothing was to much trouble. They were amazing. All the furniture, flowers and plants were beautiful and the breakfast was definitely a 10/10. My older son didn't want to leave. We will be back again soon. You must try their breakfast ?

Friendly inviting hotel

Reviewed By GoPlaces17311796605

Stayed here whilst visiting family in the area with my elderly parents. The hotel is well situated close to Halesowen and Birmingham centre and is on the bus route if needed. The old pub building was very warm and inviting and all the staff couldn’t do enough for you. I would particularly like to mention Joan who worked in the mornings at reception/ behind the bar, and the lady who worked in the afternoons also although I didn’t get her name, they were both friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. The bedrooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The only down side was the lumpy pillows but they didn’t affect my sleep. Overall, comfortable and good value for money

Weak WiFi and boring breakfast

Reviewed By HappyTraveller421

Breakfast pretty boring: just bread/basic croissants, juice, cereal, and fruit plus ham and cheese slices. Not even eggs! Subjective stuff: Room dated and furnishings loose. Welcome booklet in room out of date and inaccurate. Bed was comfortable enough though! Not subjective: WiFi absolutely appalling to the point of nonexistent. Speed low (few Mbps down depending strongly on location and device) and WiFi access points very unreliable. Coverage incomplete and my room was in a dead spot so avoid room 11 if you want any internet access.

Well found the place after being invited to a party in the area. Paid £40 for the night, I think you may be surprised at how good it is compared to what you pay, we will be using again when in the area. It is cheap and cheerful, but what it also is is clean and good staff there, you really can't complain at the place in my opinion.

Adjacent to The Button Factory in the hip Jewellery Quarter is Birmingham’s favourite boutique stay haven. All rooms are designed to make you feel right at home with comfortable beds, spacious showers and bath tubs.

Nice if you don't want to get any sleep!

Reviewed By Misslouc

The hotel itself is in a lovely building and a great location. Lots of original features and the rooms have a quirky industrial interior. The bathroom was lovely. However, the noise from the sister venue The Button Factory, coupled with the paper thin walls makes if a recipe for sleep deprivation. You can feel the bass in your chest. The hotel has potential to be great. It's sells itself as a 15 bed boutique hotel, but honestly, the sheer volume of the noise just takes away anything special or 'boutique' about it.

Excellent stay

Reviewed By andycoldham

Location - on the edge of Birmingham city centre almost opposite the famous Cadburys World. A great base for exploring the west Midlands. Appearance - pretty good, a few areas could do with a coat of paint, but otherwise the venue was very clean and tidy Grounds - The hotel has good off road parking at the front for its residents and a nice garden /decking area at the back. Staff Service - All the staff we came into contact with, were helpful, pleasant and accommodating. The hotel has a competively priced bar which stays open until 10pm daily but we did not use it. Bedrooms - Our room had a good sized bed, with plenty of storage areas and black out curtains. The room had colour TV and coffee and tea making facilities with biscuits, that is replenished daily. Bathroom - Again a good size, plenty of soft towels and plenty of hot water. The hotel also provides good quality toiletries. The hotel is a non smoking hotel and thats a thumbs up from me. Breakfast- Is available at £10 pp, per day. In my opinion its well worth the money, freshly cooked full English breakfast, toast, tea/coffee, cerals and yoghurts all available. Breakfast is pre ordered the day before on a pro forma document. WIFI - Free and worked well throughout the hotel. All in all we had a good stay and I would definitely stay here again if I needed to be in the area.
