Worst food experience during Italy trip
Reviewed By 462ybOn the road there’s a sign saying: ‘restaurant, trattoria, pizzeria’. This is not true. When we asked for a table they hesitated and gave us one. After he seated us we heard the waiter yelling at the chef in Italian ‘there’s another two....’ on a not very welcoming way. For the food we had choice of 2 types of pasta (primi) and 2 types of fish as a secondi. For the wine there was a choice of red or White House wine. No wine list while we saw a a wine fridge / display with many different wines. The waiter told us the house wines were local wines, which they weren’t. They were just cheap wines from a large wine distributor in Italy. They charged us €20 for a bottle. While our dinner was served we heard another table complaining about the bill they received (they don’t tell prices when they tell what limited choice there is). The food itself was far from special (this is an understatement!) and the service terrible. The price is far to high (there were 3 of 5 tables complaining). We spent 4 weeks traveling though Italy/Puglia but this was by far our worst food experience. So my advice: don’t go here for dinner!!

Reviewed By dam_mar1This time I was disappointed ,, It’s a beautiful location , lovely ample swimming pools , lovely beach front , even the Hotel staff is nice , courteous , and available .. the animation was superb , the young man that sang every night and kept us entertained by the bar was superb ( even if after a few nights it gets repetitive ) , but the thing that disappointed me was the food and the rooms ,, for that price you expect a lot more than “ habitat type of furniture “ ,, the rooms look TIRED , the bath/shower inadeguate .. not coffe making facilities in the room , so , it’s 5 star hotel prices , but you get 3 star type luxury ,, I been there many times before , when there was a proper correlation between price and accommodation ,, but not this time ,, as for the restaurant , due to Covid there was no additional buffet , therefore we had to make do with what was offered ,, and again , for the price ( 40/50 euros per head ) , the portions were very VERY SMALL ,and if the wife agrees ( we are not huge eaters ) than we know it’s not exaggeration, ,, in the past you could add the buffet side of things , and fill yourself up , but this time all we could ask for was bread bread bread IF WE WERE LUCKY TO CATCH THE WAITER ,..the pasta course was nothing more than testers ,the quality of the food was Very average ,,..,, the SERVICE in the restaurant was also poor , so they wear these dated “ black tie “ that is supposed to represent glamour , but the staff were not attentive , in fact it was very hard to get their attention ,, WE WERE VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED,,,

Reviewed By Michelle AHotel was clean, staff were extra friendly and amenities were close by. The Metro was in easy reach and a couple of good bars and restaurants in the area. Easy access to shops and fairly easy to get to most attractions.Would definitely use again.

When we booked it they showed us a type of apartament like the photo of the web site and when we arrived there the apartament was completely different: unacceptable. There is a lot of umidity, terrible smell, the kitchen was broken and the bathroom unusable and the wardrobes were broken and mouldy. It's not compliant with the electrical standard rules and it generates dangerous situation. the shared places (swimming pool and so on) are not bad but i don't suggest it to every one. (please refer to the pictures attached)

Reviewed By NikkiSamThe hotel was OK, not the friendliest of welcomes. The carpets on the hotel landing needed vacuuming but other than that it was clean. My room was comfortable and absolutely fine. The shower could have done with an update and hot water would have been nice. Cheap plastic small table and two chairs on the small balcony. Rubbish signage everywhere or none at all. Confusing lifts systems. Breakfast was OK with a nice selection.

We rented a boat and saw amazing little beaches .. caves, speechless panoramas... all quiet but still very alive! Loved it and for sure will repeat... The scuba classes are excellent... worth a try! The people that handled it are amazing

Reviewed By mamabarb048This hotel was clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was minimal. Café from a vending machine, and no fresh fruit. The eggs were well prepared, but cold. The rooms are not soundproof so the hotel seemed overly noisy. We heard noise in the halls and plumbing sounds. Overall a basic hotel. The hotel is not on the beach, but is within walking distance.

Reviewed By Chip VThis was our first visit to Hotel Gemelle... but it will not be our last. The staff was thankfully bi lingual. The rooms were clean. The beverage service was top notch. The hallways were a little narrow for our large American frames....and getting accustomed to Euro sized everything is just part of the charm.... cannot wait to return...!
