Grand Palladium Imbassai Resort & Spa

Very Disappointing Experience

Reviewed By tatianaaH6411HY

My husband and our 2yo daughter stayed at the resort for 4 days for a friends wedding and we had a terrible experience. Starting from the check in: we traveled with some friends so we were in 3 rooms and we requested that our rooms were close together. The front desk said that unfortunately our rooms were already sorted out and only two rooms were in the same villa, the other was in a villa completely separated across the entire complex and there was nothing that they could do about it. Arriving at our room the smell of mold was overwhelming, had to leave the balcony window open for the whole day in order to come back and be able to sleep. The room was incredibly dark and outdated. The bed and pillows were comfortable though. Don’t be fooled by the “all inclusive” claim. A lot of services offered have extra fees. The a lá carte restaurants (steak, Japanese, Mediterranean) are super hard to get a reservation. And you only have a limited amount of reservations depending on the number of nights you stay at the hotel. For example: we had a 4day/3night reservation so we could only go to 1 dinner até the a lá carte restaurants. We did the check in and IMMEDIATELY tried to make a reservation and they only had one spot available in one of the restaurants at 6:30PM at the Japanese restaurant which is a very early time when you’re in a resort enjoying pool and beach. The food there was quite good and I’d like to highlight the service of manager Timóteo that was the most caring and helpful staff in our whole stay! On the other hand the Agda buffet (the main restaurant) is a big disappointment!! They have a big variety of options but all tasteless, underseasoned. The deserts might be the worst, they look beautiful but all taste the same and they don’t even taste good. Breakfast is a bit better considering it is less elaborate. The Poseidon buffet on the beach is even worst. They have these big jars with pickled options that look disgusting. The food options are even worse than Agda. The overall service is just bad. We had a lot of rain in one of the days of our stay. And all the buildings (villas, restaurants, spa, etc) are separate, with no covered path/connection between them. We went to the Agda restaurant for dinner and when we finished It was raining. So we asked for umbrellas in the reception and they said they didn’t have enough for all guests, but we could wait for the golf car to take us to our villa, but they only had ONE driver for the night, only 5 seats only for each drive, and a big line of other guests waiting! They have more than 600 ROOMS in the whole complex!!! So we had to walk to our villa (the most distant one) in pouring rain with my sleeping 2yo (she obviously woke up as soon as we started our walk). I could keep on giving examples of more episodes of bad service, bad organization, but I feel like I have made it clear that this is NOT a 5-star hotel! They might have the status but they don’t make you feel comfortable, well served, or in any way luxurious like a 5-star hotel should!

Everybody from the team was eager to help. The rooms are well cleaned and the food is delicious. Luckily we stayed during the Italian dinner nights and everyday was an experience! Also got one Arabian night with a belly dancer and incredible food. The sea was really nice and the beach clean. Todos os funcionários do hotel foram muito prestativos. Os quartos são limpos e a comida deliciosa. Por sorte, ficamos durante os dias de experiência italiana e também uma noite árabe, inclusive com uma dançarina. O mar estava calmo e a praia limpa!

I have spend 5 nights at La Torre with my family. It was wonderful experience. Resort is in great location between Porto Seguro center and Coroa Vermelha. It offers great all inclusive amenities. Accommodations are although on the simple side very clean and comfortable. My kids were kept very busy and entertain by great staff of kids club. Adjacent beach is very short walk and offers crossing guard to help with crossing the road. Hotel stuff is very friendly and helpful, though it was difficult to communicate in English. We are already missing this place, definitely will be back and recommend to anybody.

A true fraud

at my arrrival they assigned us a chalet which didn't correspond at all to the chalet master we paid for. We discussed for 3 days and that caused me stress and at the end because they admitted that they gave our chalet by mistake to somebody else we had to move to the Transamerica Hotel in Comandatuba which was 70 km further south. This was really a lovely beautiful resort but still thinking how terribly hawful they treated us at the Cana Brava and the fact that we had to leave in the tropical heat to a resort 70 km down south on a very damaged road spoiled my vacation!

Not worth the price if you don't speak portuguese

Reviewed By Vincent G

We spent 3 days at the Tivoli Ecoresort mid April, and my main advice would be: do not go there if you do not speak Portuguese. Don't get me wrong, amenities are nice, but the resort is HUGE. We booked a Superior Plus Room, which cost us approximately 400 CHF per night, and were allocated a bedroom located at the far end of the resort (900+ room number), meaning almost a 15 minutes walk with a 3 year old kid each time we wanted to go to the pool area or restaurants. Don't even think about walking to the spa, from our bedroom to the spa we're probably talking a 25-30 minutes walk. Kid feeling tired? Enjoy your relaxing stroll across the resort carrying a 16kg kid in the Brazilian heat. Hotel will tell you that they have a golf cart service that can help you get across, except you need to order it over the phone, to someone who doesn't speak English. At the reception, there was maybe two staff members who were fluent in English, our check-in at the hotel was very brief, with the staff member locating our bedroom on the pocket map he gave us, the main area with the restaurants and pool, and the location of the spa. He also mentioned that our kid was too young to attend the kids club, we were told he should be 4 y-o, but as far as I can see staff at the kids club mostly spoke Portuguese only, so our kid wouldn't have been able to communicate with the staff anyway. But on the last day of our stay, we came across circus lessons accessible to any kid? We couldn't find any mention of it in the guides and maps were were provided nor was there any mention of these during check-in. Wondering which activity we might've missed because we do not speak Portuguese? Also worth mentioning that the hotel is on the outskirts of Praia Do Forte, not within walking distance of the city center, expect to be able to book a taxi in Portuguese on the way out and on the way back in. Blessed be Google Translate. Honestly, for 400 CHF a night in Bahia, you're expecting some serious luxury and service, and this hotel was clearly not worth it. There are way better, smaller venue, located within walking distance of the city center of Praia do Forte.
