Vacation of a Lifetime!

This was the most amazing trip we have ever taken as a family...part of it was the incredible beauty of Costs Rica + its people and the other part was due to our time at Tulemar. We came with our kids, son (14) and daughter (11), it was their first time. My husband and I had been to La Fortuna before, but it was our first time in Manuel Antonio....and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We balanced our time between a few excursions and a few days of relaxation at Tulemar. We worked with Alex, our concierge, prior to arriving in order o get things planned out and booked. He was extremely helpful and friendly, it was great to have him on hand as a resource. We arrived on a Saturday and the "boys" went fishing Sunday on the offshore, 3/4 day tour. They slayed wahoo and mahi...we had more fish than we could handle. But, not to worry, we had a private chef come Monday night and they used some of it and TuleCafe used some and cooked it for us as well. Tuesday we went on the full day waterfall tour with Waterfalls Heaven (Pawel was our guide - AMAZING!). This was the highlight of our trip, we did a private tour where we jumped off cliffs, over waterfalls and swam in the middle of the rainforest. It was a perfect day, filled with adrenaline and memories we will never forget. Wednesday we relaxed at the resort and private beach. We took in some wildlife and that night we took a Nigh Jungle Tour. It was not nearly as good as we expected, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thursday was our day for zip lining...we went with El Santuario Canopy Adventure and they did a fantastic job. There were 10 lines and one was almost a mile long! We all enjoyed the thrill of zipping through the treetops of the Costa Rican rainforest. Finally, Friday was a relax day, we were able to get our COVID tests in our casa, which were needed for a return to the US. The trip went amazingly, absolutely perfect...everything from the weather to the tour guides and of course, the staff at Tulemar (Alex, the drivers: Harry + David and the private chef: Marlon). Thanks to all and we will definitely be back again!!!!

Attractive comfortable rooms with wonderful views out to sea. Lots of lovely plants round all the rooms. 2 Nice swim up bars, very friendly knowledgeable staff. Sadly the food let it down….. very easy to get anywhere as the bus stops right outside hotel going in either direction every 15mins so very efficient. Good national park nearby and wonderful ocean. Very good boat trip organised by hotel.

Our room was superb! Had the best view of the beach, and the private pool was just below us. Our balcony was huge, with the most comfortable rocking chairs ever, we sat out there every chance we got! We saw no monkeys around the property, maybe the noise of the workers fixing the plane by the Anaconda restaurant scared them off. I was soooo looking forward to having them come and visit us, lol. The Anaconda restaurant was a 2 min walk from our room, with another amazing view, and the food and service was good. The main pool restaurant was closed, due to renovations (i think) so we couldn't even get drinks or food, there was literally NOTHING going on! The other restaurants were across the street, not a far walk, which was nice, but still. There are busses that run every 15 min, to and from the beach, or you can get a shuttle part way to the beach. We had a blast at the beach, the waves were amazing. We took the bus to Quepos, walked around and wanted to go to the marina, but it started raining. The staff were great, (i forget her name, i'm sorry) but she helped us tremendously with our son, helping us get in touch with the pharmasist, so thank you for that. If you want a place to just relax, this is the place for you.

We stayed at the boutique hotel for three nights and we were cared for like family! The hotel helped us with all of our questions which really helped on a short trip. The upgraded rooms are so awesome. The room is in its own building. You are surrounded by the rainforest, beautiful birds and lovely monkeys yet few steps away from nice restaurants, shops, live music and the main road where the bus stops. Imagining Rocking on the private back patio, listen to the rainforest, visited by monkeys or frogs. Your next door Neighbour is in a complete different building. We didn’t mind the stairs that’s connecting different parts of the resort. It was built by the shape of the land ! It is unique to the area and beautifully maintained! We loved Alex the receptionist. We loved the beaches! All together made our trip so memorable! We love CR!

Favorite terrace in Manuel Antonio

Reviewed By Silvia P

We didn't stay in the hotel, but we came twice to eat on their terrace, which was, by far, my favorite one in Manuel Antonio. It is paced in the tree patch before the beacch and it was amazing view of the ocean and the sunset. We had a really tasty avocado filled with shrimp and delicious fruit juices. The service is a bit slow and the prices a bit higher than the rest of the restaurants in the are, but it is so worth it. Especially around sunset time :)
