The 9 Best Water & Amusement Parks in Cornwall, England

May 28, 2021 Sheron Bogner

Cornwall is the extreme southwestern peninsula of England. It has the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain and it is one of the sunniest areas in the UK. With picturesque villages, Celtic ruins, light blue waters, gardens and parks and unique architecture it certainly is among the most scenic areas of England. Home of many events and festivals and the land of Cornish pasty, it is definitely worth visiting.

The Hidden Valley Discovery Park

Reviewed By solarpurple - Swindon, United Kingdom

We visited here today after passing the sign and wondering what it was. A quick Google and a straightforward booking process later and we arrived at 11am to be greeted by name and welcomed in. We didn’t really know what to expect but had a great day exploring and puzzling. Our three year old loved the Indiana Jones trail, the playground, the train and the Tibbohton houses, while us adults really enjoyed channeling our inner child following the Sherlock Holmes trail and the Forbidden Mansion. Oh, and the cakes and drinks too! We wondered if there would be enough to do, but we were there for nearly 5 hours and didn’t even do the maze or finish the Sherlock trail - it was genuinely challenging and we gave up looking for the clues in the end, opting for a brownie and flapjack break instead! Everything seemed to be done well for COVID precautions and we felt very safe there. All in all, a great day out. Highly recommend and, given the trails change regularly through the year, we’ll definitely visit again!

This place is always on our 'must do' list when we visit Cornwall - if you have young children, they will be busy all day long; either outside on the various swings, slides and trampolines; in the barn petting the very friendly goats or inside for the dodgems, ten pin bowling and endless amusement arcade machines. The people are always friendly - especially the lady who leads the ponies around for the children in the courtyard. Excellent value and great fun come rain or shine.

Retallack Aqua Park

From kids and adult birthday parties to hen do's and corporate team building, we've got something for everyone at Cornwall's biggest 'total wipeout' style Aqua Park

Reviewed By suekin2017 - London, United Kingdom

I have been to Retallack Park twice in the last week. Once to the Aqua Park with all the family and then a second time Wake boarding. The aqua Park was amazing fun and everyone, my 7 year old daughter, 11 and 14 year old sons and myself had a totally brilliant time. Trickier than it sounds to find something which entertains the whole family! Unlike some aqua parks there are no extra hidden costs as full length wetsuits are included in the price. ALL the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and charming and nothing seemed to be a problem. The pasties and turnovers from the cafe were also a big hit when we all got out! Wakboarding was even better fun. You get 1 to 1 tuition on a cable which they can vary the speed of depending on how well you are doing. Again all the staff were incredibly nice, helpful and good fun. Stupidly, I managed to drop one of my rings in the lake. One of the lifeguards (Ethan) put on his wetsuit and goggles and looked for it. I could not believe it when he actually found it! You don't get service much better than that! We will be back next year!

I've always loved Flambards as when I was a child we used to visit every week in the holidays. Now with my own family I still love Flambards and we all go as regularly as we can. Our daughter Layla has been mascot Ferdi's number one fan since she first met him aged about 15 months. The staff are always very helpful, the rides for the little ones, older children and adults are great. The indoor attractions especially the Victorian Village are amazing and even having been through them many many times over the years there is always a magical feel to it and something new to discover. Flambards is a fantastic place for young children, their parents and grandparents. Plenty of cafes but also lots of places to enjoy a picnic outside. We love Flambards and are happy it's open again for the year :)

Waterworld

I've been visiting Newquay for a couple of days and missing my regular exercise classes back home. So this morning I went to the regular Monday morning yoga session at WaterWorld. I've been doing yoga for over 20 years with many different teachers. And I can honestly say that this is one of the best classes I've ever attended. The teacher is really knowledgeable, and taught a brilliantly planned progressive class. She was more than happy for me to modify some of the exercises because of my neck problems. The class was quite challenging but because of the way she progressed the exercises from one to the other, I was surprised at how well we did. After the class I was able to use the showers, Which was very welcome as I'm sleeping in a van! I would definitely recommend this class and would come back again to take it if I'm in the area.
