Not the best signed directions when driving in from Turnov. As advised when we parked we took the Yellow marked trail, easy walking to start with but then you begin to climb up to a level which is at the height of the top of the rocks, the views from up there were fantastic, the walk down was down a narrow stepped walkway with no hand rail.
You do need to have a reasonable level of fitness to take this route and possibly the same for the other routes. Not sure that I would like to be here at busy periods so worth selecting when you visit if possible.

Hrad Trosky

Trosky is an old ruin that, through its distinctive twin tower profile and high visibility, has become the de facto trademark for the Český ráj region.
You can get some fantastic views across the country side from both towers and there is also a small display of birds of prey there.
In spite of the castle's popularity, it is in a rather isolated spot and challenging to reach if you don't have a car. There are several tourist walking and cycling trails that will get you to the castle, but you need to do your research and know your physical limits before deciding on one.
We decided on the green trail that ran between the castle and the train station in the nearby town of Ktová. It turned out to be a quite long and physically demanding route that took us through farms that had electric fences. There were also sections of this trail heavily overgrown with bush. That experience led us to choose a different trail when we departed.
Fortunately, there are two restaurants on the castle hill so you can recharge yourself after the long trek up the hill.

Looks like multi-levels adventure park - from stone "forest" with narrow ways between "stone trees" in the bottom to cliffs with flat areas and breath-taking views where is such a pleasure to contemplate and ponder. Parking personnel if friendly and English-speaking (which is not very common).

This is an old castle about 50 mins drive from Prague, rebuilt into attraction aimed at children (until +/- 10 years old). The building of the old castle is filled with figures of dragons, fairies, giants, dwarfs and witches, which are made with much creativity, all of them cute, not scary at all. However, I am not sure if there is any tour in English or other language then Czech. You can also eat at the place, cuddle animals, shoot from wooden weapons... Admission fee is high, about 800,- crowns per family + 50,- crowns parking.

After having seen a few medieval movies, one will enjoy seeing the show life! Various knights on horses are competing against each other, collecting points in every round.
Due to the popularity of this place on weekends, they made the show free of charge midweek to shift customers to less busy days..
Ignore the "no entry" sign from the main road (saying hotel guests only), there are plenty parking places on the back side of the building!
