This museum is so far my favourite thing in Iceland - and believe me I love Iceland. I made a special trip as I knew I must see this museum (I couldnt visit my first drive past but terrible weather meant I unexpectedly came back this way.) The *wonderful* lady who owns it knew I hadn't managed to visit on my earlier drive past, opened it specially for me. She told me all about the fortune telling styles she and her colleagues used in specially and beautifully designed rooms (get a reading if you get the chance, I couldnt as the storm was fast on my heels and I needed to keep driving, I know I will regret it until I can come back!) I heard the stories of the original seer and the methods used by her and other Icelandic practitioners. A rare female icon of the sagas. The proprietor was funny and informative and I wish I had been able to spend much more time there. It's in a gorgeous nook of Iceland, watch out for key baring ravens and give finding the lost treasure a try :).

The museum was closed when we stopped, but fortunately we could still walk around the grounds and see the building from the outside. It's right off the highway, so it is definitely worth a stop to see.

A visitor center that lets you take a look in a sustainable Tannery of fishleather, see the workers at work and get to now the methods. Then there is a store with leather goods, skins and hides.

The Textile Museum in Blonduos exhibits a unique collection of homemade wool and textile items. It also exhibits beautiful Icelandic national constumes and artistic embroideries along with many of the tools and equipments used to produce them. It is the only one of its kind in Iceland and was founded by the Women's Union in East Hunavatnssysla. The museum was officially opened at the centennial of Blonduos in 1976 . The museum has been a private foundation since 1993. Today, it is situated in a beautiful new building and the exhibitions are easily accessible for visitors.

1238:The Battle of Iceland is an immersive exhibition that offers people of all ages to experience part of Icelandic medieval history in a very modern and artful interactive installations and to take part in dramatic events through VR.
We had a great time. The exhibition is very professional, a mixture of reading material, 3D and something to try out and touch. Very good service both on the exhibition and on the restaurant. We do want to come again.
