A warm welcome and great food
Reviewed By Kate WAfter a long journey we arrived at Agriturismo Fara with weary heads (it's a bit tricky to find so plan your route well, it's worth it when you get there) and were welcomed by our lovely host Pina with a big smile and a warm hello. She showed us to our room which was, modern, clean and comfortable and everything you could need for a good nights sleep. Pina offered us dinner which we gratefully accepted as we really didn't want to go out again and we tucked into one of the best meals we had on our whole holiday. With beautiful Sardinian inspired cooking (Pina's birth place) and lots of fantastic local wine we ate and drank well and rolled into bed with full stomachs and big smiles on our faces! We only stayed the one night as we were on a tour of Italy for the week but would highly recommend a stay at Agriturismo Fara, you won't be disappointed.

Reviewed By Pamela HThe beautiful Marche region of east/central Italy offers a combination of an attractive coastal strip and an inland maze of hills and gorges, winding rural roads with little traffic and rustic villages. The backdrop to all of this is the foothills of the Apennine mountain chain. About 4 km from the village of Montegiorgio is Casa San Ruffino, a 5 room B & B/boutique hotel in a restored farmhouse operated by gracious hosts and celebrated former Swedish chefs and restaurateurs Peter and Carina Nordin. The site is stunning with well-tended lawns and gardens, a swimming pool, onsite parking and, most memorably, panoramic views across lush farmlands to a series of hilltop villages. The location is ideal for day trips to the coast and to larger historic towns such as Ascoli Piceno and Urbino. For those with a little more time, Perugia and Assisi are less than a two hour drive away while Ancona, the principal town of Le Marche, is about a hour distant and boasts an airport and reliable rail services to Rome and many other Italian cities. Rooms at Casa San Ruffino are tastefully and individually decorated, each room offering an en suite, queen bed, quality toiletries bar refrigerator and the superb view. Given their professional backgrounds, Peter and Carina also provide restaurant-quality meals on request, served in-season under a charming outdoor pergola. Breakfasts are also served outdoors facing the views and comprise a gourmet selection of fresh fruits, pastries, bread, charcuterie and handmade items such as granola, yoghurt and jams which Carina also sells commercially. Guests wishing to sample local osteria and trattoria food can access a wide range of options within 20 or 30 minute radius of Casa San Ruffino. Peter and Carina provide a detailed information booklet containing reviews and recommendations regarding dining, sightseeing, and arts and crafts. The venue offers exceptional value for a relatively modest tariff and provides an experience of Italy away from the tourist trails of the major cities in one of the country's least populated and spectacular areas. Tucked away gem on hilltop town 20 minutes from the sea
Reviewed By Lindak54Paula has done a remarkable job renovating this B&B. The view is astounding. Our room upstairs was beautifully decorated and so cozy. There was even a writing desk. It's a little difficult to get to but with good directions you'll get there. The roads are ridiculously narrow. The entire hilltop has maintained its character. The main square dotted with a local bar, incredibly good cafe and the Farmacia of course. I highly recommend this place. Every turn brings you further back in history Breakfast served in a lively dining room is cooked specifically to please each guest and accommodate their needs. Paula will give you wonderful tips where to visit. She's just lovely. Make sure you get a room with a view. It's astounding

Nice and relaxing in a lovely part of Italy
Reviewed By RanyWe stayed at I sassi di san giuseppe for 4 days in August and we had a very pleasant experience. The place has been nicely refurbished and the pool is very nice. Pictures on the website are 100% realistic. There is no restaurant or bar, but each apartment has a kitchen so you can sort yourself out easily. The place has only few apartments so it was quiet even if full when we were there. They even produce a quite nice organic red wine which we ended up buying. Location is perfect to enjoy this beautiful part of Italy. You absolutely need a car here but everything is close by and roads are safe (mind the speed cameras on the mainroads pretty much everywhere!). Lots of super nice villages around Montegiorgio ( all around 10-15 Km) and seaside also close (Porto San Giorgio is very nice). The owner is very friendly and helpful and everything was dealt with in a very professional way since the first email enquiry about booking. All in all we had a very relaxing time here and I can see ourselves visiting again in the future!

Reviewed By Roberto MRight in the centre of this charming village. Very good breakfast, nice cakes and croissant. Good place to stay if you are visiting relatives or a base to explore the area. Parking in front of the B&B. We stayed in two rooms, the children sharing the twin bedroom.
