We parked up after a breathtaking ride on the windy road. Walked to the Devils Mouth, and looked down on the tiny looking Church Stretton. Beautiful place, and a roller coaster type drive!

My wife talked me into this walk. If you want to park close, there's a track coming out of a sharp bend in the village of Willstone (488,953 on OS217). Only space for 4 or 5 cars and it's a rough track. Anyway, the summit is a very easy walk from there but stilll takes in some spectacular scenery. We were very lucky to see 3 pairs of Kestrels playing on the wind. Lots of fungi as well being mid September. It was a clear day and the views from the summit were everything you've heard. Stunning! Recommend you take a pair of binoculars to make out details across the valley to Carding Mill Valley and beyond. We'd intended to walk off to the south and then pick up the track back to the car but having got to the track in good time and feeling envigorated, we opted for a climb up to Willstone hill and the Battlestones there. Again, a lovely walk but my wife insisted that we not take the direct descent and instead find the footpath further on.... Needless to say that was a mistake and we ended up wading through the chest high bracken that someone else reported! On the plus side, we did find the biggest Parasol mushrooms we've ever seen! Back to the track and the car and I'm grateful we didn't park in Cardington. Just under 6 miles which was enough for an out-of-shape near pensioner. As it was luchtime, we repaired to the excellent Royal Oak in Cardington which I can heartily recommend. Great day out!

Ragleth Hill is easily accessible from Church Stretton - our map guided us through streets to a footpath in a wood, and then along a path along the hillside and finally up the hill itself. You then walk along the ridge, with phenomenal views on all sides. I wouldn't call it a strenuous walk particularly, but the hill is steep if not specially long.

You can also find locally made handcrafted items and a good selection of gifts. Workshops are regularly ran from the shop and every Tuesday we have our Coffee & Craft session, open to all and completely free.

We went to see the church today when it was gloriously sunny. There are benches all around the gardens you can sit and admire this pretty and impressive building. A sign welcomes you to take a look inside and it's like going back in time. Such a beautiful building and so clean and well keep. Also very much in use with full Sunday services, there is also a lovely pub opposite for a nice lunch. All worth a visit if your passing.

So many route options to take which was great for us with my 6 year old boy and 11 year old daughter so we didn't choose to go to the very top of the peaks but just a good walk around the bottom of the mountains and to see the beautiful little waterfall little tea shop on the car park as you walk to the mountains and waterfall as well, a great visit lovely views absolutely perfect for families

Didn’t have enough time to look at everything in detail, huge selection of ‘ stuff ‘ as others have mentioned. Something for everyone - a real treasure trove- also good source of furniture for anyone setting up home , in addition to retro, vintage and antiques to enhance your home. Well worth a visit , great shops and eateries in the town as well.

Popped in here for an early drink following a long day walking. I tried the beer tapas where you can choose three different beers, It was pretty quiet however thats not a problem for us. We returned later in the evening following our evening meal for nightcap drinks. Nice place and friendly staff would go again.
