70mins ride only charge me 2000yens. It is unbelievable. The ride climb up to 1380m from around 800m above sea level. The vehicle is slow and you can totally enjoy the fresh air in the forest. I saw a deer amongst wood. And I was thinking if I would see other animal like bear. Lucky not. Come an enjoy the fresh air bath with the ride!

Rented a car from Orix Car Rental which is a short walk from Tonosho Port (came from Okayama New Port) Arrived at the ropeway at 11am. Managed to get on to the ropeway before a tour group did so it took us less than 10 mins in line. Autumn colours were in their peak and it was gorgeous the entire way up to the summit station. There were several viewing spots and souvenir shops on the summit. Spent about 45 mins up there before taking the doorway down again. There was a long line when we disembarked and it looked like a hour wait at least. So go early and hopefully there's no tour group in line with you!

Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad

Reviewed By timbarrable - Bunbury, Australia

This is a great way to see the surrounding towns and villages near Takamatsu as there are actually three tracks - this one which goes to Kotahira and the famous Konpira-san temple, one that heads west and another which heads east along the coast. You can get a two day ticket for unlimited rides on the whole Kotoden Electric network and its well worth it. I just rode to different stations got off and explored. The eastern track takes you to some beautiful shrines and temples as well as coastal villages. The Kotahira track takes you to Konpira-san so you will probably just sleep on it on the way back after climbing all those stairs up the mountain :-)
