Reviewed By Elvin Patrick G - Manila, Manila, Philippines

I went here last March 2016 summer vacation with my family. we don't have any plan on our trip when we went to Bicol, the only thing that I know is we will having our Visita Iglesia in Bicol. We went here at Paguriran Island on our 3rd day. the place is very nice and the sand is very firm. This is the 1st time i went in the place. I enjoy visiting this place despite we dont stay too long because it is already crowded by that time and heat of sun is too hot. But for me this place is one of a treasure of Bicol...

Rizal Beach

Reviewed By jesumjr - Paranaque, Philippines

In our travel thru Sorsogon, we spent one afternoon at Rizal Beach in Gubat.
As the beach has become popular with surfers, especially those learning how to surf, we found a number of people precisely doing that, taking advantage of the small waves coming in from the Pacific Ocean.
The shoreline slopes gradually into the sea, so you can wade some distance from the beach into the water, with the water reaching just up your chest.
When swimming, stay away from the people learning how to surf. Since Rizal Beach has a long shoreline, you can just go to one side where you can enjoy the water or just loll on the beach.
There are small nipa shacks high along the shoreline where you can put your stuff and shelter against the sun.
For those who want to go Surfing or to learn how to surf, there are locals who will teach you and there are surfboards for rent.
You pay P200 for the use of the nipa shack.
Rizal Beach is accessible from the Gubat highway, and there's no problem with parking.

Bagatao Island Lighthouse

Reviewed By Irmaontravel61 - Luzon, Philippines

Located in the municipality of Magallanes, the Bagatao Island Lighthouse has been a guide to seafarers particularly to fishermen as the weather in the Bicol region particularly in Sorsogon sometimes changes in the evening. Sometimes, fishermen leave the shore with a sunny weather then in the middle of their fishing activity, thunderstorms just appear specially in the evening. The lighthouse is their guide to go back ashore and find assurance that they will not get lost at sea. This has now also become a tourism destination as the view from the lighthouse is scenic and spectacular seeing the wide expanse ofthe bay of Sorsogon and some landforms around covered with trees.
