Memorial of the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance

This place surprised me. It is a memorial to the many victims of the communistic era. It is graphic and shows how the people were methodically imprisoned, tortured, and killed. First they did the intellectuals, then anyone suspected of being against the communists. Overall they must have killed millions. The museum is multi-floor but I could only take about 3/4 of it before I had to get out. The guide said we made it farther than most. Required viewing.

I am very glad that I read The Night for which he won his Nobel prize as this is the house described in the book in which his family had to flee during World War II. We have been to many Holocaust museums all over the world, but not to such a small and personal sight such as this. Definitely worth the admission to learn more about this inspiring man.

It's not a big place and doesn't have many things to show. If you visit Sighetu Marmatiei, you can visit this plase also. You don't need more than 10 minutes for this.

We have booked a one-day tour with Private Maramures Tours. It was the highlight of our trip. Teofil, the guide, is very knowledgeable about local traditions, people and places. During our tour with him we have seen medieval wooden churches, astonishing new monasteries, water mills, traditional farmers and some very special artisans.

I and my family visited Bukovina and Maramures under their guidance in May 2016. We had just three days to tour and Florin optimized the whole tour. He is very punctual and pleasant. He met us in Suceava and drove us around the area. Next day we drove to Maramures, stopping in the way to suit our needs. On the third day, we visited the wooden churches and other attractions in Maramurs before he dropped us off at the Baia Mare railway station.
Although we didn't stay at his facility, he took us there and his lovely wife fed us a wonderful lunch suiting our dietary needs. That was extremely nice of the them.
Other than showing us around, Florin talked to us about the changing social structures in the region and that was very educational.
Their rate was extremely affordable and Florin was true to his word about the price.
All in all a great experience. Thanks, Florin!

Piscina Sarasau is a complex of 2 indoor heated swimming pools opened in 2016. One of the swimming pools has salty water which is beneficial for human health. In summer of 2016 we aim to open a 3rd swimming pool outdoor. The facilities are open all year round and everyone is welcomed daily between 10:00-22:00.

One of the most interesting bars in Sighetu Marmatiei, Transilvania . The place is created with passion & a lot of attention for details. The combination between industrial design and steam-punk captures your attention and takes you to an other world. The atmosphere is very nice even if the bar is most of the time crowded.
