I researched the restaurants before arriving in Sighetu Marmatiei, and this one was on our shortlist. We were certainly not disappointed. Food very well cooked and very generous portions, service was very good too with sufficient English spoken. Menus include English translations. The venue is very traditional with live music (traditional music), it certainly added to the experience. Definitely recommended.

Patiseria means bakery and my first reaction is: why are they listed as best 'restaurant'? Nevertheless we tried it and indeed, not only their bread and croissants are good but they are providing also a relaxing café/ tea salon atmosphere with good food and impeccable service. They can also make sandwiches the way you wish with high quality ingredients.

The restaurant is Nicely decorated and had a pleasant atmosphere.
Food is local Romanian with some European dishes.
Goulash soup with potatoes was delicious, fresh bread is homemade, could not stop eating'
Main dishes were pork in mushroom brown sauce & "golden" potatoes, traditional chicken in white sauce & polenta. Both were delicious. Mixed salad had variant vegetables was very fresh.
Reasonable price, efficient service. Very good food. Recommend.

We went there few times during our stay in Maramures. The place is nice equipped, staff is friendly, everybody speaks English. The coffee and the cakes were also good.

Not sure what the 5* reviews are for. For us all was very average, everything heated up in a microwave and very bland. Much better off at David's Bar further down the street. Their menu us short but freshly made and same prices.
