Termas de Melgaco

Reviewed By JaninedeBric - Denver, Colorado

A walk in the woods leading up to the Termas (springs or baths) at Melgação made for a relaxing approach to the Springs themselves, the main Fountain (fonte) of which is housed inside an Art Deco style building built in 1915. We caught the attendant at the Fountain before it closed for the afternoon (typically open in the morning from 9:30 to 12:30, then 15:30 to 18:00), and tasted the nearly salty, mineral-filled, effervescent waters. There are more treatments that you can schedule, or you can stay nearby and take a full "cure," but for me just the after-lunch stroll and walk through the charming building was a welcome respite.

Reviewed By PeterHarvey - Norwich UK

Soalheiro needs to be on any wine tourist's agenda for vinho verde - one of the best and famous producers of this DO. We had a great tour - even during harvest - and tasting; and didn't even book in advance. This is alvarinho at its best and the views from their tasting room is pretty good too. Don't mess around just go.
