Lanta Animal Welfare

Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to rehabilitate suffering and sick animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm and our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the centre every hour, between 10am and 4pm. If a rescue dog needs exercising, visitors with appropriate experience may take them on one of our three walking routes. The best time to exercise a rescue dog is from 8.30am - 11am or 15:00-17:00. We do not walk our dogs in the heat of the day. The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here. NOW OPEN: Kitty City and Kitty Cafe! Enjoy a bite to eat or a refreshing iced tea while hanging out with our rescued cats.

We took a dog for a walk, was fun! Totally recommend getting the tour. If you can, donate some toys for the pets. Or donate a pet! Super friendly staff and nice vibe. Go between 9-11 or 15-17 if you want to walk a dog. You dont pay for entrance.
Wonderful what they do for koh lanta.

I made this trek hoping to get some great sunset pics. I think I did okay there but wow, what a steep hike. It is a nice viewpoint and I think worth the hike but be ready for it. Bring water and if you're old like me, take your time.

Railay Beach Viewpoint

Access to the viewpoint is from the footpath to Phra Ngang beach and starts with a very strenuous clamber up the cliffs. Once at the top things level off into a hike through the forest to the viewpoint. Great view to be had and great fun altogether.

Nui Beach (Haad Nui)

Reviewed By Jonny J - Vasteras, Sweden

If you are looking for a calm beach where you can spend hours and hours just walking between your blanket and the water, this is your place. Doesn't have that much shadow (there are shadow but no abundance), but have a bar and some restingspots for rent, 20 bhat. Snorkeling is bad, nothing to see.
Be ware of monkeys, always lock your bag thoroughly.
Best way to reach this place is by motorbike. Be aware that there are a limited space for parking

Laem Tong Bay

Reviewed By Richard T - Burnley, United Kingdom

This bay has so much going for it.
Pristine sand
Quiet by Phi Phi standards
Clear blue water
Gently sloping gradient for safe bathing
No motorised water sports
Modest in length - can walk end to end in 20 minutes comfortably
A few great resorts
2 or 3 private beach restaurants
Direct ferry services to Phuket with offloading onto longboats direct to the resorts
Plenty of private longboats available for excursions/visits to other parts of the island.
I have been to other Beaches around the World where the sand has been even more pristine, or the sea bluer, but as an overall package, this takes some beating.

Ko Rok Nok

Lying south of Phuket, these twin Islands are known for their pristine white Beaches and colorful coral reefs for snorkeling and diving.

Reviewed By KashmirFriend - Coimbatore, India

Koh Rok is one of the most beautiful of the Islands about an hour's speeedboat ride from Koh Lanta. The super soft, white and fine grains of sand adorning the beach is not commonly found in most locations. The Emerald water with a number of Snorkeling sites is not to be missed. There are separate day tours exclusively for this island with buffet lunch, drinking water, fruits, snorkeling equipment and life jackets are available. Some boat operators provide full face covering snorkeling equipment for kids and elders who are not comfortable using classic two piece snorkeling equipment. Ask me for recommendations of operators which I have tried and the prices.
