Praia do Pedrogao

This is real authentic Portuguese style sea-side village. Few tourists. Great beaches and great restaurants. Peace and quiet during the week, busy in the weekends. Are there nicer villages in Portugal in the area? Sure, but also loads more tourists (Ericeira, Nazare, Figueira da Foz amongst them). So it's really up to what you are looking for. If it's a bustling tourist town head elsewhere. If it is the true authentic village by the sea with scarce tourism Praia do Pedrogão is great. In any case it is a great point from which to explore the many things to see and do in a 30-60 minute area, and then come back to total peace and relaxation afterwards. I love it, but then I am a dutchie.
