This huge park has everything. Lots of grass areas for a picnic, lovely lake and a nice playground. The day we visited several squirrels zoomed around - much to the delight of some small children. Amazing to find such a big park in a build up area like Bromley

Great walk in the woods and wonderful finding areas with lovely woodland flowers. Good for just a walk or taking the dog for a walk. A nice cafe there too.

Petts Wood And Hawkwood

Reviewed By chrisdodd4 - London, United Kingdom

This National Trust property is a stones throw from Chislehurst Station. On leaving the main road, after walking down a cul de sac, you enter the Wood, and are met by the running water of the Kyd Brook, a tiny stream which is part of the Hawkwood Estate. You can cross the bridge, or as we did continue it’s path with the stream running next to us. As you move away, and in to the surrounding woodland, you feel a sense or tranquility, you are only 13 miles south east of the centre of London, but you wouldn’t imagine it. The path then splits, and you walk up pass Tong Farm, you can if you feel energetic walk for further to find the Edlmann and Willett Memorials, the latter being a Memorial Sundial to the founder of British Summer Time , ps when you do visit unlike when we went, also take wet weather clothes and shoes you don’t mind get dirty say no more. After we had made our way out of the woods, we also passed Chislehurst famous caves well worth a visit if you not been check out the website for more details, before making our way back to the station, you can make your back home from here or as we did we continued along to Elmstead Station before catching our bus back home from there. So in summary, in the summer time when the weather fine ,stretch right up and touch the sky, you got walking you got walking on your mind.

Priory Gardens

When I have a chance, I always go through the garden to Orpington High street or just have a rest in a picturesque landscape of the garden. It's good for a family or a solo visit and has a fantastic rose garden. Also it's a fun to walk near swans and ducks. We are very happy to have Piory gardens in Orpington.
