This place is ideal for children of any age, especially the under 12s. Staff are superb and helpful, there are so many activities such as cow milking, goat feeding, pig racing, handling a guinea pig, a tractor ride, adventure playground, several flavours of ice cream, a restaurant with hot and cold food, bouncy castles and so on. We went with 2 year old toddlers and early teens and we all had an amazing time. Entrance fee is not cheap but do ask for what discounts are on. Once inside, some activities require an additional small charge.

Fancy's Farm

Fancys Farm is free to enter and is open every day of the year except Christmas Day from 11am to 4pm. Most of our wide variety of animals are super friendly and love to be petted. Feed is available in the main building at £1 per cup. We have a children's play room and outside toys which are all donated as we can't afford to buy them. All of our animals receive the best care possible but some are rescued and may not look at their best as they are recovering from previous poor care. All of our friendly staff are happy to help and answer any questions that you may have, if you would like a free tour please ask for Jon. Our shop sells a variety of meat and eggs produced on the farm along with hot and cold food and drinks. Please enjoy your visit.

With free entry and such big fields, this farm is incredible. All the animals are really friendly and are clearly looked after really well. You can buy a cup of food from the shop for £1 and feed the goats and sheep. This is really fun as it’s hand on with the animals. They have so many like pigs, goats, ducks, horses, alpacas, donkeys and rabbits etc. We will continue to visit here everytime we come to the island.

Eweleaze Farm

My second year at Eweleaze Farm and another great week's camping. All facilities were clean - no mean feat for composting toilets and the social distancing was well managed. Enjoyed starting the day with very well lead yoga flow classes each morning with Debs out in the morning sunshine. Indulged in a very relaxing massage at the Day Spa which was very clean and well organised. Overall a fine week on the coast in Dorset. Looking forward to returning next year.

Abbotsbury Childrens Farm

Reviewed By krish993 - Beyrie-Sur-Joyeuse, France

Spent a very happy 5 hours here with my two grandchildren ages 3 and 6. There were plenty of things to do that didn't cost anything, the soft play being particularly of interest to my two. The barn was full of activities to do (table football, table tennis, large soft building modules, bouncy castle) with a separate, safe area for babies/toddlers. Parents are in charge so it was a little chaotic at times as it got busy..... the barn is a beautiful restoration and lots of history notices about smuggling etc. The remote-control pirate ships were a draw to my 6 year old but for £1 a go was expensive for the time it worked. I'd give that a miss next time. There were lots of other outdoor activities testing your skills (hulls hoops, splat the rat game, water play, sand play, sit on tractors to race around on) and lots of animals to observe, some which could be handled (guinea pigs). A good day out for the family (possibly not for teenagers). The variety of animals was great - rabbits, ducks, sheep, donkeys, horses, llamas, tortoises, birds of prey, goats.....You can take your own food in, and if I went again I will as the cafe was the only gripe I had about the place - it is very expensive for what you got on your plate. I would also order an adult macoroni cheese next time to share with my grandchildren as with drinks I paid over £30 having separate plates. An adult portion for under £10 and a yogurt each after would have worked better. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. I will definitely return - the children loved it!

Honeybrook Farm

A Traditional, Working Farm. We open to the public offering lots to do for children and families. Honeybrook is also a Beautiful venue for Weddings, Parties, Special Occasions and Events. We too run Wild Skills Adventures for children and young people as well as Workshops and Adult Courses in Traditional Crafts. Open seven days a week 10am - 5pm. No need to book in Easter and Summer School Holidays (much to contrary belief!) In the future we may introduce a system in the colder, quieter months whereby we would ask that you call in the morning to inform us of your visit so we can ensure we have everything open and running for you. However we would never turn you away! For a Family Day Out - River Trails, Farm Animals, Pets Corner, Tractor Rides, Pony Rides and Grooming, Adventure Play Area, Big Bouncing Pillow, Water Splash Pad, Soft Play Barn. The Wonkey Goose Cafe sells freshly ground coffee, teas and hot and cold food. Workshops and Craft Courses. Children and Young People: Wild Skills - Learn exciting Outdoor Survival Skills! Tie knots, track animals, build a den, light fires, forage for food, skin a rabbit, gut a fish and get cooking on your open fire. Watch Ranger demos and get hands on - A sense of Fun and Appropriate Clothing is the only requirement! Day courses in Traditional Crafts such as Pole Lathing, Clay Cob Oven Building, Introduction to Blacksmithing, Foraging, Porcelain Flower Making and many more. A Popular Wedding and Party Place - The Great Barn has a registered Ceremony Room and Bar, the Orchard is a beautiful spot for a Marquee if that is preferred and the Stone Circle next to the River is a magical place for a Handfasting - with vintage wagons, tractors and horses it is an ideal venue!

Camping @ Honeybrook - we have just returned from a four night stay at Honeybrook’s campsite and cannot praise the staff enough. Excellent points - Well organised, good spacing, responsive staff team, Good pricing, clean and tidy site, regular security patrols. Things that may need some work (not staffs fault) - portaloo toilets easily became blocked with no means of clearing the blockages (site would be advised to investigate the construction of compostable toilets). We did not manage to visit the farm as this was additional to the camping prices. Thank you all so very much for a fabulous end of summer get away will be visiting again.
