Patrick Amiot Junk Art

Visiting Sebastopol without walking up Florence Ave. is like visiting Paris without stopping by the Eiffel Tower -- don't skip it. Florence Avenue is 1/3 of a mile (.33) in length and only 3 blocks off Main Street. Most, if not all, homes on the street have a whimsical Amiot in the front yard, many of which reflect something about the resident(s). It takes less than 10 min to walk the length without stopping and the art is wonderfully clever!

Sebastopol Center for the Arts

We experienced the Sebastopol Center for the Arts for the first time today. We found the current "Art Quilts" exhibition phenomenal. The level of artistry and craft skills displayed in the quilts extraordinary. What made the experience even more pleasant was the welcoming and friendly attitude of the art director and the volunteers. Exemplary! I think my phrase "Art for Everyone" is accurate given patience. The exhibitions change every 5 weeks so among the 10 that will be held each year and I'm sure at least one will touch you. Go and enjoy them.

Ragle Ranch Regional Park

I regularly walk my dog at Ragle. The part of the park that fronts Ragle Road is "urban", with tennis courts, volleyball pits, play structures, soccer fields, and ballparks. The back of the park is fast becoming a wildlife refuge. Don't get me wrong, you can walk a dog on a leash, but in an area separated from the city boundary of Sebastopol. It's very good birding spot, jogging trail, and dog walk all in one. Sebastopol is very lucky.

They have a back room with couches and little noise compared to the regular bar area. Much more comfortable. They will also bring in food from you from many of the local restaurants nearby. Nice place to hang out with friends. They also have an outdoor area that looks like fun for the warmer months.
