Malaga is one of the oldest cities in the world, founded in the 8th century by the Phoenicians. Today, art is everywhere-- you can experience exhibits dedicated to glass and crystal, classic cars, contemporary installations, and, of course, the works of Picasso, who was born here. Wander past banana trees and beautiful fountains as you walk through Paseo del Parque, then hit the old city to quench your thirst at a Spanish tavern.

Playa La Malagueta far exceeded our expectations in almost all respects. It is very clean and that goes for the water too. It is easy and affordable to rent loungers under a palapa and there are plenty of beach restaurants. Our favorite for its quality of food and drinks, friendliness and youthful vibe was Chiringuito Mami Beach. We also enjoyed Chiringuito Tropicana where they actually brought great drinks right to our spot on the beach. For us the only negative is a lack of public restrooms.

Hi, Went to this beach as a wee change from Malagueta beach. Not many Hawkers offering you towels, drunks, massages.... More locals go here I suspect. Plenty of bars around for lunch and drinks...
