Rathjen Cellars

Rathjen Cellars is a farm-based winery located on the Saanich Peninsula. Committed to working with 100% Vancouver Island fruit, we are passionate about bringing under-utilized farmland back to health and into production. We draw inspiration from Old World traditions in our sustainable farming practices and minimal intervention in the cellar to create wines that honestly reflect their origins and pair beautifully with our local foods.

We had a work dinner at Rathjen Cellars and it was wonderful! Mike was so friendly and knowledgeable. We had a catered meal and Mike paired the wines with every course. It was amazing! My husband and I had originally enjoyed the Church & State Syrah as a restaurant in Invermere, BC. When planning our trip to Victoria this was a priority. Our wine tasting was graciously hosted by Tony and the wines were delicious. Because of air travel, we were limited to our 2 favourites: Viogner and the Meritage. We enjoyed the shelter and patio heaters on a cooler Oct afternoon. The food was delicious (fish sandwich and beet salad). I would recommend you visit!
