Gaislachkoglbahn

Reviewed By Aquilegia_blue - Beverley, United Kingdom

We enjoyed the two cable car rides to reach the top of Gaislachkogl. Once there, we spent no more than 45 minutes enjoying the views, then returned to the middle station where there were far greater opportunities for walking. We took advantage of our Otztal card to pay for this this cable car ride - the rates without a card (37 euros per adult) were far too expensive for us to have considered the trip otherwise.
In all, I would recommend the Gaislachkoglbahn on a fine day to appreciate the views but would not consider it a 'must-do' activity if costs are an issue.

Freizeit Arena

We came here straight from the slopes several days during our ski week. Free entry to the pool section with a daily voucher from our hotel. Big, warm, well designed pool with interesting water jets / intermittent waterfall etc. Didn't try the café but the menu looked reasonable. We paid 8 Euros each for access to the sauna area too. Hot and cooler saunas, a steam room and tepidarium plus a large relaxation area with loungers etc. Well patrolled by the bademeister team, who quickly deal with anyone disobeying the standard Austrian sauna dress code. One of them runs an especially popular 6pm sauna infusion ritual - be there early to be sure of a place!

Solden

Solden and everyone in it made our stay unforgetable. The natural scenery was as perfect as you can imagine the Austrian Alps to be. So much to do for all levels of physical capabilities. Hiking was superb. Local food was excellent. Points of interest everywhere. Loved our visit to Solden.

Like many Austrian resorts, I was recently in Mayrhofen and Finkenberg they have spent a massive amount of new lifts and infrastructure, Solden, with the Giggijochbahn
No queues
Very fast and efficient
BUT the most expensive lift Pass I’ve ever bought - obviously trying to make their money back sharpish

Bike Republic Solden

Reviewed By WanderingAloud - Caerleon, United Kingdom

Came here last year and went down the Teare Line and Zaahe Line (which was only just completed) Visited again July 25th - Aug 1st and it was much better.
They have improved the Teare Line - putting in more jumps and ramps - works really well. The Pump Track is good for a bit of practice and it's free!
They've also added the Eebme Line which is a bit more family friendly - but not for little kids who haven't mountain biked before!
Teare Line a fantastic trail that leads from Mittel Station right back into Solden via a 7k switchback trail down the mountain and through the trees. If it get's too much you can use some of the ski piste ( in summer) or the roads.
We did it twice in 1 day as we had free mountain bikes courtesy of our Oetzal cards. It was fantastic. I'm sure it will be even better next year as they are investing more money in the trails and upgrading them - also the Gigijochbahn so you could ride up and across from there to go down.
Zaahe Line is pretty steep for inexperienced or average mountain bikers - so take care.

Waalwege Moserstegle

Reviewed By LOEWE9 - Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany
