Hardwick Park

Hardwick Park is a country park with a difference. Now a Visit England accredited attraction, it has survived since the 1750s when its then owner, John Burdon, created a sprawling ornamental park. Today, the remains of some of the original buildings he created can be seen throughout the park, which suggest the area has a richer story to tell. Hardwick Park is a great place to spend the day. Stroll through the park and admire the natural beauty of the lake, woodland and wildlife. The visitor centre also has excellent facilities including an interactive display, education room, cafe and toilets.Throughout the year there are a variety of events, activities, walks and workshops for all to enjoy.

Knotty Hill Golf Centre

Reviewed By robinso

We are a group of retired ex-colleagues who were looking for something different to do for our annual summer outing and so we booked this venue to play FootGolf. We arrived mid-morning to the warmest possible welcome by the friendly and helpful staff. We had a pre-match coffee in the restaurant and then we were given our scorecards and pencils and were even offered a lift to the first tee in a golf buggy. We picked up our half size footballs, then the lady fully explained the features of the course and even made suggestions as to how we should split up the group and mark the cards etc., We split off into three groups of 3 players. We were intending to play 9 holes but we enjoyed the experience so much that we carried on and played the full 18 holes. We then returned to the clubhouse and paid our fees where again we were greeted by the friendly staff who seemed to welcome our business and were genuinely interested in finding out about our customer experience. We would highly recommend supporting this family run business for a fun day out in lovely countryside surroundings.

I attended one of the popular workshops recently at the shop. It was relaxed, informative and interesting. Lots of helpful tips and not at all rushed. There was tea and very lovely cakes to keep us going. The shop is a lovely treasure chest of supplies for the crafty and beautiful pieces of anything from furniture, cushions to glasses. I've booked another course and no doubt will indulge in purchasing a number of items.
