Daedunsan Natural Recreation Forest

Mount Daedunsan is a natural reserve that had kept quite a low profile for all these years. But once you set your foot to the place, you cant help but admire and wonder on the creation of the world where you can view the Mountains at a magnificient 180 degrees view. The journey to reach the peak can be tiresome for the weak and so not recommended for the elderly. But , if you are young and fit, do get your gears and climb up the 1 km steep staircase to reach to the top. The temperature can drop to about -4 degrees so do put on your heat tech gears.

Daejeon O-World

Reviewed By HongseonJeong - Daejeon, South Korea

O-world is a small theme park located in south of Daejeon, including zoo(Not big, but enough space to walk around 1~2 hours). It's very easy to get there, because it's close to city-center. I know, it's smaller than like Lotte-world in Seoul or Seoul-land in Seoul, but this place is for local citizens. Taking a day on holiday or weekends, this place will 'cure' you. One more, it costs about $10 to just enter(including park and zoo), $25 including every service. It has a couple of restaurants inside, but tastes bad and expensive. Don't forget to bring a picnic-basket!

World Heritage Network

We specialize in arranging adventure day tour to trek and explore South Korea’s most famous & most beautiful mountain, Daedunsan Mountain. Daedunsan Mountain is especially beautiful in the fall when its rock peaks are surrounded by the autumnal tints of turning leaves.

Reviewed By audreymullen800 - Sydney, Australia

We took up a day tour to trek Daedunsan Provincial Park from World Heritage Network. The weather was crisp and cool, and though the scenery was a little subdued, it was still great to be outdoors again after a long, bitter winter. Though the trail was very steep, we made pretty decent time to the (almost) top. The main attractions on Daedunsan are the suspension bridge that goes from one small peak to the next, as well as a rickety tower of "floating" stairs. Though we braved both, the bridge was especially exhilarating. After we noodled around at the top and took a million pictures, we headed to the gondola, which took us back down the mountain. Because this is Korea, and literally everything is over-the-top cute, the gondolas had names and faces. Once at the bottom we stopped for some much needed pajeon and mageolli. Pajeon is a savory Korean pancake that is usually made with green onions and various seafood and then fried in oil. Mageolli is a creamy rice wine that is low in alcohol content, and extremely delicious. Yum! As you might be able to tell the weather was a little bleak - Is it fog? Is it smog? No one knows for sure! Despite that fact, the hike was great exercise and a lot of fun. I would absolutely recommend World Heritage Network to those who wish to trek this mountain especially to anyone living in or around Daejeon. I hope to return to this mountain during the fall, and will hopefully do some more hiking soon.
