Ludwig II's admiration of Louis XIV was played out here in a spectacular fashion. Sumptuous furnishings and decor with gold leaf everywhere in a series of splendid rooms all within a jewel of a building and a lovely setting. Must be seen.

The exterior is beautiful, but the interior is next level spectacular. Although this main interior room is smaller than a lot of the cathedrals/churches I saw in Germany, it was the most impressive due to the attention to detail in the decorative elements such as the paintings, sculptures and other ornaments. Definitely worth the stop, even if its just a short visit.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Perfect place for an afternoon snack. Cheese samples available. Snack on cheese, sausage, bread, and grab a beer. Friendly counter service.
