I love this place! Everything about it from the wonderful horses, staff, scenery and friendly atmosphere. I came here 10 and 8 years ago with my University riding club and loved it back then! We decided to come back this year to relive our youths and we were not disappointed! Fantastic fast paced rides with plenty of canters and gallops, stunning scenery and views, the horses were wonderful, fit and well cared for. Ellie, Liz and Dawn were fantastic trek leaders and really looked after us and made sure we had fun each time. It was lovely to see Steve and Sue again and we enjoyed the BBQ and picnic and pub stops en route again too! This is such a fantastic place - we have now decided to make this an annual riding holiday trip and we are all so glad we decided to come back nearly a decade later! Thank you so much to all the staff and horses!

Stonehouse Brewery

Our bar & shop are open 6 days a week for you to enjoy a drink and take away some beers. Our bar is lovely and cosy with a wood burner for when it’s cold. A large viewing window lets you take a peek into the brewery and distillery and watch us in action on brewing days. For those warmer days we have plenty of spaced out seating among our cider apple trees in our pretty orchard, where you can enjoy sampling from our range of drinks produced on site. We produce a variety of beers, from rich porters or easy drinking session bitters to crisp refreshing pilsners and IPA’s. We press our own Sweeney Mountain Ciders and also have Henstone Distillery gins, and other spirits. We also offer wine, cocktails and soft drinks. Food available from 12pm - 7pm Wednesday - Saturday from our very own BBQ & smoker. BBQ chicken; burgers; pizzas & lighter options. Dogs and children are very welcome. A trip to Oswestry is not complete until you’ve visited us!

I've been a fan of the Stonehouse Ales for a number of years but this was the first time we've spent an evening on site with friends. Wonderful ale, cider and spirits at a genuinely decent price as you'd expect as you're drinking "at source". Good choice of big hearty food again at a reasonable price. Staff are very friendly, located in a wonderful rural setting and clearly attracts a "decent crowd". Not many better places to spend an evening with friends. Recommended

Bywater Cruises - Horse Drawn Canal Boat Cruises

Horse Drawn Canal Boat Trips In this day of fast cars, commuters and computers, we are proud to keep our feet firmly in the horse age. There is no better way to relax and unwind from the stress of modern living than to sit comfortably aboard our special horse-drawn narrowboat and enjoy a memorable journey as you cruise through unspoilt Shropshire countryside on the quiet waters of the Montgomery Canal. In the ‘heyday’ of canals, thousands of horses were employed pulling cargo boats along the canals of England and Wales. Today our narrowboat “Countess” is one of only half a dozen horse-drawn narrowboats in the country. She is the only one running regular cruises on the narrow canals of the UK. So if you are looking for a totally relaxing experience step back in time with us.

Wow! What a hidden gem in the countryside. Beautiful backdrop to the outside sculptures which you can hire a buggy and go around if you don't fancy walking. The inside sculptures are placed all over, dont forget to look up too! Great Christmas area for gifts and the tea room entices you with the smells of fresh coffee and warm scones when you walk in. Fantastic place to visit, I will be back for more... plenty of parking, very friendly and informative team of staff with a selection of outside garden pots and ornaments for sale so you can take something home too.

Lion Quays Spa

Reviewed By Andi932015 - Llandrindod Wells, United Kingdom

5 of us visited Lion Quays spa yesterday. None of us had been and we all had an amazing time! When we arrived we were shown to the changing rooms and given our locker keys and shown the way to the spa. The changing rooms were cold, but were told the heating was on full. We headed down to the spa and looked around used the sauna and went to the snow cave. There was NO snow!! We were all gutted! We’d really looked forward to using the snow room. When I went to tell the spa reception that there was no snow/ice they said they’d check the temperature but later when we went back it was still the same. Very disappointing. We headed upstairs for a buffet lunch, food was lovely and plenty to choose from! For our treatments we had the mud rusal, dry flotation bed and one of us had a pedicure. All treatments were lovely and the relaxation rooms and snacks were perfect! 2 of us used the gym, it was very well equipped and kept to a high standard of cleanliness and a good choice of machines to use. We will come back in the future, and hopefully next time the snow cave will be working!
