Dragon Tiger Tower

Beautiful photos appear all about the lake and this is a great place to start. Going in through the dragon's mouth and departing from the tiger's mouth has symbolic good luck implications. A donation gets you a postcard. The lotus flowers are OK and there is a nice temple opposite the towers. Some decent places to eat are also nearby.

Lianchi (Lotus) Lake

This is a lovely place to go and wander around the lake. There are many beautiful temples and pavilions to see; Dragon-Tiger Pavilion, Ciji Temple, Spring Autumn Pavilion, Qiming Temple and Beiji Xuantizn Shanf Di Pavilion were my personal favourites (all of these are on the same side of the lake). There are some nice souvenir shops just opposite the Dragon-Tiger Pavilion too. The lake is just a short 5minute walk from Zuoying Station.

Ruifeng Night Market

Reviewed By BBJJLT - Singapore, Singapore

A buzzing night market (3-4mins walk from Kaohsiung Arena Station) as compared to the other Liuhe Night Market near Formosa Blvd. Station. This night market has so many eateries to offer and things to buy. For food, highly recommend the Angel Deep Fried Chicken - one of the best fried chickens in the city; the bubble tea store next to the Angel Chicken Store and the Fried Stinky Tofu in the first lane (next to the grilled oyster/seafood store). There are so many shops around as well from local to international brands. Also, check out the reflexology and body massage store located at the 2nd floor of a low-rise building toward the end of the night market.

Kaohsiung Arena

Kaosiung is a city that is well organised for traffic. Its metro was not busy nor its tram when we visited. The highlight was the foyer of the metro's main station with its glass ceiling and piano for anyone to play.

Lotus Lake Erawan Shrine

Reviewed By sharpforst - Stuttgart, Germany

We walked from the Ecological park MRT station. Visitors can also change to a bus at the MRT station to reach there. The lake is huge. There are several temples by the lake side including the popular Long Hu Ta (dragon and tiger pagoda). The water games and restaurant were closed when we were there due to bad weather.
