We had alot of fun shooting arrows at each other. My son is 10 years old and he really enjoyed playing with the archery bow and the foam sword

Bower Ponds

Bower Ponds is a must visit for anybody in Red Deer. You can rent pedal boats in the summer and ice skate in the winter. It is a beautiful spot with paved trails for walking and has a huge playground with rubber footing for kids to play. There is an indoor pavilion with washrooms and a concession. This is not always open so check times before you go. It also has an outdoor stage and hosts numerous concerts during the summer months. I find it the most beautiful in the fall. It is also situated next the river with easy access via bike or walking trail. Dogs are welcome on leash. Be cautious of the Canada Geese in the spring and keep your distance. Always so cute to see the goslings.

My daughter is 44 so you can imagine how old I am. We went with the idea we would be an hour max but stayed just over 2 hours. Kim Lawrence from Guest Services made it really worthwhile as did all of the interactive activities. Now I plan on taking my 40 year old son to it.

Discovery Canyon

This is a man made picnic area with a bit of a waterfall and flows down hill into a large shallow pool where kids can float down on a tube. Tube rentals are 2.00 a day I believe, and there are picnic areas as well as lovely walking trails near the golf course.
