Infinity Bay Spa & Beach Resort We ended up here as a result of our delayed travel plans. On the day of our departure, all flights to and from Roatan were cancelled; their airport fire department’s truck(s) weren’t working so it was too great a risk to have aircraft come and go. So we got “stuck” in paradise for 1 extra day… which delayed my return to Alaska 4 days. In the end, I paid an additional $1300 for the earliest ticket, days later. I digress. This is a beautiful, well-maintained, upscale, beachfront condo/resort in iconic West Bay Beach of Roatan, Honduras. It offers a free shuttle to and from the airport but they ask you coordinate it at least 48 hours in advance; however, that doesn’t mean they won’t still accommodate you with shorter notice… it just isn’t guaranteed. As you walk in, you’re greeted by air conditioning - a welcome reprieve from the heat and humidity. To your left is a gift shop/boutique with a wide range of souvenirs, t-shirts, swimsuits (in case you forgot yours), cover ups, hats, insect repellent, etc. As you continue past the front desk, on your left is now the Tiki Cup which has snacks and drinks for sale. Exiting the welcome area you’ll encounter the garden courtyard with a huge, colorful, ROATAN sign for your picture pleasure. The pool isn’t far and as you walk along the path passing the dive shop and pool you’ll encounter La Palapa, an outdoor bar and restaurant with fans. If you’re lucky, you might be able to get seated with front row seats (practically) to the most beautiful (and bustling) beach. If not, you’ll have umbrellas and seated tables in the way. The yucca and plantains are on point! I was pretty excited when I saw the sea bass on the menu but was less than impressed when it arrived over cooked. ✨ THE HIGHLIGHT | I’ve traveled the world and NEVER seen water as clear as what I experienced on that bright sunny day on the beach. Absolutely immaculate. I can’t stress it enough. No seaweed on the beach, crystal clear water and a super comfortable temperature. Not too warm, not too cool. ✨ The beach does have vendors walking about selling shirts and other local odds and ends. They weren’t overbearing or hovering. If they ask, and you’re not interested, simply say, “No thanks.” And they’ll be on their way. It’s also pretty busy and loud. People are on vacation and REALLY enjoying themselves! So if you’re searching for a little seclusion and peace and quiet, this is probably not the place to stay but a great place to visit. Beaches are public property so you can still visit if you’re not booked at the property. The wifi is great and the 2 BR condo with 2 balconies we booked in the 900 building was fantastic. It was probably the furthest room from the beach but had more privacy than just about any other room, lovely views of the garden and forested area outside, a/c, and plenty of space. The bottle of wine and plate of fruit was a nice touch. There’s a spa on site but I didn’t have an opportunity to use it. They also have security but it seems like an incredibly safe place; however, just like ANYWHERE else you go, don’t leave your electronics or high value items unattended on a beach chair bc it may just go missing. If you’re looking to be located in the hustle and bustle of West Bay with easy access to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, this is the place for you. You’re also close enough to walk to the Semi Sub Glass Bottom Boat for some very epic scenes of the reef.

Needs to be updated but has a great view

Reviewed By Dreamer03042008739

Fosters has a great location and we had the best view down the beach from our deck, the bed was comfortable, and the staff is responsive. But… the reception and rooms are VERY tired and in need of an update. The taps in our shower were not really connected to the wall, the shower had very low pressure and eventually had NO water at all (the shower head was plugged), the air conditioner dripped so bad it kept us up at night (it also required a repair), we had a large cockroach in our room, the toilet needed at least 3 flushes for any solids to go down (sorry about the TMI), the “canal” beside our room was stagnant, full of scum, and smelled), our cutlery was rusty, and we were only told AFTER we had ordered our 4th jug of water at the end of our two-week stay that only the first jug is free and it’s $5USD for each additional jug, even they ended up only charging us for 1 after questioning them about it. We paid $185USD a night which isn’t cheap - we definitely paid for the view!

The Best of Roatan!

We did not stay at Blue Roatan, but we did have a tour of the property before our dinner at the on-site restaurant, Azul. The grounds and the hotel are absolutely beautiful. Nestled in the treetops, the views are amazing. There are so many comfortable seating areas tucked all around the property that invite you to grab your spot and spend a relaxing day enjoying the views and the breeze. Now for the star of the evening…the food is the best you’ll find on Roatan. Chef Ramon and his staff make guests feel very welcomed and provide not only world-class cuisine, but also a special dining experience. Try it once and I’m sure you’ll want to book another reservation right away!
