Gl. Brydegaard is a hotel, a restaurant and a conference facility. The farm was originally built in 1796 and for many many years it was an ordinary Danish farm with cultivated fields. In about 1940 the farm was turned into a guesthouse for wealthy people from Copenhagen, who came here by train to stay for the summer. In 1980 the old builings burned to the grown only leaving the old pigsty intact. The farm was rebuilt and in 2004 Gl. Brydegaards current owner, Connie, bought the place. The area around Gl. Brydegaard is very suited for bikeriding and walking, and especially the peninsula Helnæs is renowed for being a wonderful area for trout fishing. Feddet is a preserved areas due to the many larks and swallows which breads in the area. One of the things very special about Funen is the fact that it the island is known as Denmarks kitchen garden and Funen is a gastronomic delight. Seeworthy things are amongst others Egeskov Castle, Agger Wine and Park golf and the Japanese garden

Reviewed By FrequentFlier538742Don’t waste your money here. They charge nearly €400/night even though, in their own words, they “haven’t managed to train our new staff well enough”. That meant no dinner after waiting for 1.5 hours and our little boy went to bed on an empty stomach. At breakfast, any basic request (can we have some water please? Some jam or honey please?) couldn’t be fulfilled. The bedrooms didn’t help - they have nets as curtains so there’s no way of keeping out the light, and no fans available in peak summer. Their “compensation” at checkout was to not charge for dinner we never got! A complete joke. Makes Fawlty Towers look good.

Reviewed By modernguinness2Arrived at GlamsBjergHus a few hours before check-in but they allowed me access to the room no problem. Stayed in room 205, great room, beautifully decorated, great facilities to cook for yourself and with 2 supermarkets really close by it really feels like you're at home. Its nice and quiet with loads of free parking, great wifi and lovely friendly staff, I honestly only have positive things to say about here

Underwhelmed
Reviewed By CadierenHaving stayed in many B&Bs around Denmark, we were disappointed. On the plus side: the location in the village of Faldsled, close to a small harbour, is very nice. The large breakfast and sitting room at the end of the building is bright and pleasant, and so is the conference room on the first floor. We were lucky to be the only guests that night, and enjoyed the peace and quiet in the common rooms. However, with 29 beds in total, conditions may be rather different during busier periods. And here is the catch. The rooms are just too small for anything but sleeping. At about 21 m2, our “family room” contained a double bed plus a bunk bed. Two hangers on the wall and a small bookcase. No closet and no room to place our luggage except on the bunkbeds. We cannot imagine how a family of 4 would manage in such a cramped space. The bathroom at barely 3 m2 needs no further description: not acceptable. We only came here because our usual B&B was fully booked. But Birkelygaard isn’t really a B&B...a hostel would be a better category. And surprisingly, the price is the same as that typically charged by “real” B&Bs.

Usædvanlig venlighed, gæstfrihed og imødekommenhed
Reviewed By 56allanlMin kone og jeg var på turisttur på Fyn, grundet Corona. I første omgang valgte vi stedet Fyrtårn Tommerup Hostel, fordi vi kun skulle have et overnatningssted. Og med det som udgangspunkt, fik vi langt mere end hvad vi havde forventet, som overskriften antyder. Morgenmaden var god og varieret, men det der var mest slående var personalets venlighed/gæstfrihed, som smittede af på de øvrige brugere af Motionscenteret, som også hilste på os, som om vi var stamgæster. Alt hvad vi mødte, var præget af en atmosfære af tilfredshed. Selv om vi ikke brugte motionscenterets faciliteter, var det ret omfattende og bestod af flere forskellige tilbud. Selv en svømmehal. En ihelt usædvanlig og positiv oplevelse var rengøringsdamen der gjorde rent om morgenen, hvor vi spiste morgenmad. Hun var utrolig hjælpsom, også med at fortælle om Fyn generelt, og om hvor vi kunne tage hen. Men det var hendes varme personlighed, der gjorde udslaget. Super fin campingplads (boede i hytte)
Reviewed By frederikkeguldVirkelig fin campingplads lige ud til strand - gode faciliteter. Vi boede i hytte 4, hvor døren ikke kunne lukkes helt. Hvis vejret bare havde været en smule koldere, havde det ikke være en sjov oplevelse, men det ødelagde ikke vores tur. Derudover er døren todelt, som egentlig er et godt princip, men den nederste del hænger ikke ved den øverste, så døren er bare træls. Fin med plads. Tekøkken og køleskab. Kogeplader og vask. Vand kan hentes ved køkkenfaciliteterne. Bilen kan parkeres lige udenfor. Alt i alt super fin

Reviewed By familien55Vi sov der to nætter med vores datter på 7 år. Huset ligger super idyllisk og fredeligt. Der er pænt og rent alle steder og Birthe og Henrik var meget imødekommende. Vores datter fik lov at fodre dyrene; høns, geder med kid og en lama og havde en fest med det:-) Dejlig morgenmad er med i prisen.

Perfect campsite
Reviewed By Daniella HEnjoyed a stay of 5 days. The campsite is quite simple. Just pick a spot you like and set up your tent or caravan. Small playground. Kids can really interact. Sanitary facilities are clean and sufficient. Free hot water. Really relaxed place to stay. Perfect spot to explore Fyn. It is true what the camp owner says: 1 star camp site 5 star guests. Looking forward to go back.
