Wonderful agriturismo

Reviewed By Jan B

I really can't express what a wonderful stay we recently had at this agriturismo! The food prepared by chef Bea is some of the best I've tasted anywhere in the world; so very fresh and such a wonderful combination of tastes. Dinner is also available at the restaurant which I highly recommend (we will eat there in future, even if we're not staying there) The hosts are very welcoming and go out of their way to make guests welcome. The bedrooms are air-conditioned, which we didn't need often as the house is quite cool anyway, but was good to have. The room we had was a very generous size and very comfortable. As we found everywhere we went in Italy, people are very Covid-aware and wear masks / maintain social distance as a matter of course, for the greater good.

wonderful stay in the Abruzzo

Reviewed By lasouris68

As seasoned travellers in Italy, particularly the least well-known parts, we can safely say that our stay at Case Catalano was wonderful. Our house was very well appointed, clean and well- maintained while retaining it's intended rusticity. The original features and furnishings are beautiful. The situation is perfect for people who want peace and tranquility in stunning and historically interesting surroundings. Ida and Carmine (similar in age and life experiences to our own) are the perfect hosts. We we will certainly want to return..

The best agriturismo in Italy

Reviewed By cristiandc2016

This place was amazing, but Gianna made it perfect. The Agriturismo is beautiful and elegant, but Gianna treated us like royalty. I stayed in different agriturismos in Italy, but this one was the one I loved the most. The moment I left, I missed them so much. I would go back to Italy just to stay here.

He helped us with everything we needed. He made a special breakfast for us runner as soon as we told him we needed a lot of energy. Everything was perfect. We rented bikes and did a lot of run and hiking in the neighbourhood. The rooms are very clean, spacious and beautiful . We will definitely return here! Loved this place. Very good price!

Trekking in Abruzzo

The farm can be found about 2 km from the centre of Abbateggio, a characteristic village in the Majella National Park in Abruzzo. It is in a splendid panoramic position with a view that sweeps over the peaks of Majella and Morrone to those of Gran Sasso to then take in the Adriatic sea.In the middle of the 10 hectare property of fields and oak woods, 500 m above sea level, at the foot of the Majella mountain, there are two characteristic stone farmhouses – one dating back to the late 1800’s and the other to the early 1900’s – where our guests are welcomed.Large outdoor spaces are available for rest, relaxation or stretching legs. A few particularly suggestive areas of the property will be pointed out for reading or meditation. In other parts, it is possible to take advantage of the lack of illumination and, at night, lying in a field, admire the starry sky listening to the sounds of nature. The renovation of the farmhouses has been carried out with the utmost respect for the structures, traditional colours and materials using only stone, wood, brick, wrought iron and natural brass. The colour-wash painting of the rooms has been done with natural earth pigments, the flooring is in linseed-treated, handmade terracotta, the floors are of wooden beams, joists and terracotta flat tiles.Rooms and apartments have been furnished with traditional wooden or wrought iron furniture, procured from antique or second-hand dealers in the area, giving both a rustic as well as a refined atmosphere. All apartments, kitchens and rooms have a fireplace even though an invisible underfloor heating system mitigates the temperatures of the winter months. Each apartment also boasts a small library in addition to the main one for the guests.

Nicely restored farmhouse

Reviewed By Norbert T

Set at the border of the majella national park. Very nice restored farmhouse. The owner Carlo restored the farmhouse in the 'original' style (with beams exposed and fireplace) and created 3 apartments, each with its own entrance. Clean. Next to the house is an orchard and vegetable garden, pick what you need. Why not an excellent rating? Some cups were broken and the shower door was broken. Which Carlo will certainly repair after reading this review :)
