Belleau Wood is very famous in the United States of America since it has been the location of a very important battle lead by the US Army’s 2nd US Division and the Marine Corps, in June 1918. It is during this battle that they’ve been named “Devil Dogs”, for their fierceness to attack German positions and capture this area. Located in the first floor of the city hall, Belleau Remembrance Museum displays an exhibition about this great battle which saved Paris. The museum complement to the visit of the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery of Belleau as well as Belleau Wood. Each year, two temporary exhibitions about the Great War are displayed Our museum is open from May 8th until November 11th and the entry is free.
