The Cob

Reviewed By 950charlesf - Newtown, United Kingdom

A flat easy access walk across the cob gives great views to the Snowden range on the east and the coast to the west. The Ffestiniog railway shares the cob and gives further interest, and of course provides an alternative method of crossing and viewing. The road takes the same route below on the inland. The cob runs from the rail station to the engine sheds on the south end.

Spooner's Bar, Harbour Station, Porthmadog

Reviewed By Brian12082015 - Wigan, United Kingdom

We first visited Spooners in August last year during our short stay in Porthmadog, we went for our evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was good and the service was good with an excellent choice of local craft beer available at the bar. We enjoyed our meal so much that we decided to return the following day for breakfast, again we had excellent food and service. We returned again last week and just popped in for a pot of tea mid afternoon, as it was out of main holiday season the place was quiet but staff friendly and place warm and clean.

Porthmadog Harbour

Reviewed By 5TravellingLight

This harbour is generally one of the cleanest and best kept that we have found. It is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, ice cream parlours, lovely shops, and the Harbour Hall often has attractions withis - namely a display of Welsh products made locally and available for sale, another time it was an amazing display of stalls of antique merchandise over 30 plus displays. Always plenty of visitors, obviously a popular place where visitors return year after year. We always enjoy watching the boats and the children fishing for crabs. Always friendly, people of all ages around to chat to, and exchange holiday stories.
