We are so incredibly lucky to have this treasure trove in our town. Amazing gifts that suit from very young to well (slightly) older family members. Ladonna has been like a fairy godmother during covid helping me get gifts to friends and family that we couldn't visit. The shop has something for everyone, a beautiful framed picture of a star in the sky for my friend whose dad passed away, birthday treats for another friend. Surprise cheer up treats for my niece when she broke her arm and most recently a fabulous big fluffy toy dog for my daughter who has autism to take to hospital with her to get her tonsils out. I always spot something new and there is a price range for every pocket. If you are in visiting portlaoise pop in, it's so lovely and the staff are so helpful.

Heywood Gardens

I only live 30km from this gem and had been here about 30 years as a young boy. My word, they are just gorgeous! So well maintained, it’s only such a shame the house was demolished in the 50s. It’s a pity more isn’t made of the gardens from a marketing and tourism point of view. Like a nice coffee shop. Well worth a visit if visiting Kilkenny Laois area- this needs to be integrated into a proper itinerary as it would be a lovely day trip from Kilkenny city coupled with the Discovery park, Abbeyleix and the Slieve blooms- we are hopeless at marketing in this country, we should be shouting from the rooftops about gems like these
