Our best experience in Italy

It’s a pity I cannot add more than 5 stars, as this place definitely deserves all the praise! We only stayed 2 nights and felt sad leaving, as Davide and Roberta made us feel truly at home. From the moment of booking with them by email I could tell that they really care about the guests. Our room was really nice, very clean and comfy bed. The whole estate actually has a lot of character and history, with a lovely terrace that opens to a fantastic view of the surrounding green hills. The breakfast was amazing, including local artisanal charcuterie and cheese, fresh eggs and delicious jams made by Roberta. We were lucky enough to also have a taste of the apricots from their own garden. But the true heart of this place is its owners, very warm, welcoming and helpful beyond the expectations. Very knowledgeable about the region, Davide gave us the best advice of where to eat, shop for local produce, go to the beach and park. We have visited a lot of places around the world, including top hotels, but none of them managed to leave such a warm impression - we were treated like family, not tourists. Grazie ancora e non vediamo l’ora di tornare!

Like visiting your family on an Italian Farm

Friends and I stayed a few nights in this charming farm. The hosts were so kind and generous, and despite the language gap, were so keen to impart their enthusiasm for the land and natural produce. Marco is an amazing cook and the meals each night were delicious. The wines (the orange wines!) were a perfect complement. We were lucky enough to have fellow guests at the same time who were great company - one brought a guitar and treated us to songs after dinner one night. The memory of the stars, the wine, the music and the good company on that night will stay with me forever

Remote, quiet, traditional place

Reviewed By AnaPostirnaceanu

The view is breath taking and there are some hiking trails in the area. The garden is nice but you should be prepared with a 4x4 car (a Lancia Ypsilon can make it to the top, but with some hicups). The staff is very friendly and the food is ok, but the variety of products for the breakfast could be better. The family room in the main building is a little bit crowded and dark but there is a kitchen within and you can prepare your own dinner and eat outside. Be prepared for musquitos. Close to many city attractions, but be prepared for a very curvy ride.

Immersi nella natura

Reviewed By BabiBM

Best tiramisu I ate in Italy

Wonderful, relaxing stay on this organic olive farm high above La Spetzia. Personally, now I’ve done it, I don’t need to visit the Cinque Terre again but I would definitely return here and enjoy Fabrizio’s wonderful food, charming company and lovely environment. A real Italian gentleman, fluent in French and very good English. He also produces a superbly nutty olive oil! A lovely step away from the hubbub. Oh, and the limoncello (made by Fabrizio) was also the best I had in Italy!

What a gem!

Reviewed By TravelBugsWithKids

We stayed one night at La Via del Sale and wanted to stay forever. We are a family of four and they immediately put another single bed in our room to make it a quadruple room. With a queen size bed and two single beds, our room was still spacious. Other door in our room opened up to the back of the house that overlooked the peaceful gardens and the mountains. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable and linens were very clean. Bathroom was very clean and spacious as well. In the morning we heard the church bells ringing and we woke to the aroma of fresh homemade pastries and bread. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh warm croissants, fresh baked bread, focaccia, fresh acacia honey, salame, prosciutto cotto, bresaola, yogurt, cereal, preserves and Nutella, fresh crostata, cafe made just for us with warm milk to make cappuccino and juices and tea! We were so full from breakfast, we skipped lunch! We really wanted to change our plans and stay longer, but a sadly we had to leave. We highly recommend this gem of a place hidden in the mountains. Wow! Grazie per tutto!

Chill & relax

What an amazing place we found in a small Italian village! After a long an tiresome travel, we drove up the amazing mountain, swirling on small country roads, passing even smaller villages. Finally we drove up to our Casale Amati, a place we managed to book from home just 1 day ahead of leaving rainy Netherlands! We entered the old rustic olive mill through a mid evil looking door and were welcomed by the sound of falling water from a small waterfall, super calming! The energy was amazing! Esepcially when we were welcomed by the owners Federica and her brother (thanks for the amazing white wine).....after the welcome We discovered a small & almost fairy tale like house, which was equipped with every comfort you can think of (lcd tv which we did not use/our netflix account was silent for a week;-) as we had much better things to do, like enjoying the amazing big garden with our dog, lovely breakfasts in the morning (dont forget the “red house panneria in Casano??), enjoying the sun, and obviously great neighbor restaurants, and breath taking visits to Cinque terre& the beach. What a shame I did not bring my surfboard, amazing waves every day! We slept great all week and really managed to relax and chill. Every night we enjoyed some nice wines and BBQ lovely fish & meat, or even walked the garden with wall nut trees, kiwi trees, flowers & butterflies...words can not express how much we loved this place. Super price & quality ...yet too much to discover for one week! Next year we will will come again, show the place to my family and try some Ligurian spring air.. as Federica mentioned they are planning on getting a pool...which would complement a perfect family holiday. Only downside...you never want to leave again! Thanks Federica & brother for allowing us to enjoy your family home, it was truly amazing, and we will come back! Pascal & evelyne & Philo?
