Catoctin Creek Distillery

Catoctin Creek® Distilling Company was founded by Becky and Scott Harris in 2009 as the first legal distillery in Loudoun County since before Prohibition. We are located in Purcellville, Virginia, in the heart of the Loudoun Valley. Loudoun County, often called D.C.'s Wine Country, is home to more than twenty vineyards and wineries, and it now has a distillery. At Catoctin Creek, we believe in high quality food and spirits. Organic means higher quality: grain and fruit, sourced locally when possible, free of pesticides and chemical additives that would come through in the spirits we produce. Sure, it is more difficult to produce organically, but the results speak for themselves. The Virginia Rye Whisky!

Catoctin Creek Distillery went above and beyond making a memorable experience to celebrate my husband’s birthday while ensuring customer and staff protections during the pandemic. We made a reservation online and had one indoor table waiting for us at a safe distance from other tables. We were able to attend a tour before enjoying a whiskey flight and cocktail flight. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and were very accommodating of our 4.5 month old puppy. Thank you for making such an enjoyable experience! We will definitely be back!

My friend and I are so happy we visited! It was phenomenal. The views were great. There was plenty of space to sit outside and inside. The beers were great and there was even a variety of hard seltzer’s. They had an extensive food menu inside with great pizza and food trucks to choose from outside. We were there on a Friday night and there was live music. I would highly recommend going!!

A short hour-something trip from our nation's capital is this fun-filled place! My wife and I took advantage of the summer weather and, along with two of our more adventurous grandchildren, took a three hour rafting trip down the beautiful Potomac river which offered smooth water, white water rapids as well as beautiful scenery along the way. Our trip began with the donning of the obligatory safety equipment-hard hats, flotation vests and instruction from our guide, a seasoned 'river-rat' named "Zug". A short bus ride upriver to our launch point was full of commentary, facts and notable points of interest along with a plethora of jokes-both good and bad-from Zug. We launched in a rubber raft complete with new-found river captain knowledge and our personal paddle 'cause, you know, no one wants to be up the Potomac-or any other creek without a paddle. Paddling along, Zug steered the raft and the conversation by introducing us to facts about the river. As we paddled, we were given the chance to swim in deeper calm water, ride white water over rocks and submerged bridge pilings and even given the chance to swim (float, really) a set or two of rapids. All too soon, the trip was over and we were hauled back to the Center by an ancient-but trustworthy-old army deuce-and-a-half. Again, with the banter from Zug. Does this guy ever breathe? All-in-all, an adventure I'm sure my grandkids will remember for a long time. I know I certainly will!
