Charming stay in Copan Ruinas

Reviewed By Roving68372680082

Casa de cafe is excellent. Clean, comfortable and well priced rooms situated within a charming courtyard (even managed to save us from the classic Central American sounds of dogs barking in the night). The breakfast is actually spectacular. The best brekkie that we’ve had whilst travelling. Iguana Azul next door is also great, we spent our first two nights in the Studio attached (very kindly provided with a free upgrade after a booking.com related glitch in the matrix). Copan Ruinas itself is lovely with plenty to see and do nearby, Casa De Cafe served as the perfect accommodation. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Alex and Olivia U.K.

Pleasant guest house in Copan

Reviewed By lorenzo_mtc

I stayed three nights a this pleasant guest house, and I can strongly recommend it. There was everything I needed for a nice stay -- clean, comfortable room and private bathroom; ceiling fan and air conditioner that really worked; helpful and considerate owner; nice breakfast; and at least from my room, a great view of the mountains to the west, and a nice balcony from which to admire it. It is about four blocks from the central plaza -- not far, but sufficient for a quiet night.

This is a budget hotel within 1 km of the center of the city, 2 km from the Copan Ruins. The hotel is located across from the local cemetery in which it's colorfully decorated inside/outside as well. The rooms are typical with bed, T.V.. bathroom with shower. .Maid service is on request. The compounds of the hotel is tastefully decorated, painted with bright colors with an upper terrace to relax overlooking the area. They sell souvenirs as well in the front desk should anyone be interested. As for meals they'll offer you coffee with toast next to the front desk otherwise go into town. Just be prepared to hear the roosters crow all night long from your room as there is a farm just outside the hotel. That kept me awake.

Hospitality taken to the next level!

Reviewed By yarcejorge

Besides the thoughtfully decorated and well equipped rooms, the welcoming public areas that remind you of a little villa in the middle of France or Italy and the great location and amazing view of the whole town from the terrace kitchen while having a traditionally cooked breakfast by Dona Esperanza; the core of this magic place is the hospitality of the small but very efficient hotel's crew, from the receptionists to the housekeeper (the famous Dona Esperanza also in charge of those already mentioned delicious breakfasts accompanied with freshly made tortillas), everybody is there to help you and make sure your experience is the best possible. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED

A nice stay in the Village :)

Reviewed By Myo M

A very nice "family-run establishment" (with warm welcomes from all members of the family) right in the Copan village, getting at this place for the quite reasonable price of about 25 US$ a night was my own "small-but-not-tiny" room (with actually a good-sized bed which takes up a good part of the room, a small TV mounted on a wall & also an ensuite bathroom of a size to move around easily). And yes, just as satisfactory as the accommodation was the "filling breakfast" on the 2nd floor (with also a not-too-distant view of some "serene mountains" around the Village to see from the tables alongside the railing facing the street in front of this place); and also as for the meals apart from the breakfast, one which I can definitely suggest is a pretty good Chinese restaurant (to the left after coming out of this place then to the right just at the first street where the restaurant is on the right side after a short downhill way) although there are also a number of other places to eat around this place apart from that one. As for the well-known Copan "ruin site", it's just about a 20-minute walk away, first to the "east gate" of the Village (where on the wall just inside the gate a "long mural scene" which I would say a pretty great collection of some "defining images" of this area including that of a jaguar!) for about a 10-minute walk followed by another 10 minutes straight along the road leading out of that gate to the gate of the "ruin site" (a "big gate" unmissable on the right side of the road with also a row of souvenir vendors on the left side). And yes, a "quaint place" in itself with cobble-stoned streets lined with small multi-colored buildings of 1 or 2 stories (kind of a "mini-Cartagena" as I would put it, and more similar both in appearance & size to those like Granada in Nicaragua and Antigua & Flores in Guatemala), pretty much everywhere in the Village is just within a 10-minute walk from this place including the "main plaza" (at just a short walk to the left just along the street in front).
