Roselands Hotel

The hotel is under new management since January 2012!

Okay for the price we paid.

Rooms were small but clean. Booked a double room and was disappointed with the 2 separate beds rather than a double. The mattresses were the firmest I've ever slept on and gave constant back and neck aches all week. The balcony was lovely and tidy with a table and 2 chairs and gave a nice view for our specific room, however from the looks of other rooms I'd have been disappointed with some. The food was ok for the first few days but becomes repetitive especially at breakfast where there was eggs done 3 different ways, bread and beans with the occasional sausage. We ended up eating out towards the end for tea as were sick of the same stuff. The staff were nice enough and pleasant apart from the owner who on our last day was screaming and shouting at one of the barmen behind the outdoor bar. Over what I don't know but it seemed very unprofessional to do in front of all the guests outside when he could have easily taken him aside away from the guests or into his office near reception. Wouldn't go back again but was okay for the money, would be much more annoyed if we paid anymore than what we did.

Bad hotel

really a bad hotel. the only positive thing to say about this was that they have good beds. the food was the same for lunch and dinner. the snack bar consisted of a dry "sandwich". the last two days the food was cold. the entertainment was spared due to few guests. there were noises from chickens, goats and sheep. there were cats everywhere and they jumped on their lap when eating. really a disappointment.

Summer Village of Hippokrates

Our family hotel is located in the area of Marmari and 700 m from the sandy beach where you can find water sports and sun beds to rent. It is 1 km from Marmari center, 14 km from the airport and 13 km from Kos town. The bus station for Kos is 100 m from the hotel. In Marmari area you can find bars and restaurants. All the rooms are all in bungalows style surrounded by beautiful green scenery and they include: telephone, TV, air condition, hair dryer and fridge. In our garden you can find a big swimming pool, children’s pool, football area, beach volley, and a very nice cocktail snack-bar. There you can enjoy your drinks, satellite TV, billiard, darts and free wifi. Reception is open 24 hours a day where you can have information, exchange money, telephone - internet service and also safe box.

A little gem.!!

We stayed at the Summer Village from the 6th of May for 14 nights, it was our 3rd visit. We absolutely love it. From the owners Christoph ( sp) and Vickie, the bar staff, Ali who is amazing, Costos and Alex all lovely guys, to the maids, Albana and her beautiful daughter and not forgetting Christa on reception. they would all go the extra mile if you needed any help. The rooms are spotlessly clean, we stayed in room 601 which was close to the pool and restaurant it was ideal for us, The food was variable so there was always something to suit all tastes. It is quite rural but you can catch a bus into Kos or Tigaki and it only costs a few euros. For us it was all about relaxing after a terrible 2021 due to health issues, it was just what the Doctor ordered. If you are looking for the club scene,,Kos has nightclubs so it is a lot more lively . All is all we had a fab time and will be booking again soon for next year. :)

Sandy Beach Kos

My family and I stayed here from 8-22 April. We stayed in a family suite which was huge, clean and had a fab shower, the beds were also really comfortable . The restaurant was well managed and the food was tasty. Wine and beer on tap and good. All the staff in all positions were very kind and helpful. Pools were obviously cold but it was April, plenty of sun loungers, loads of children's activity areas. Beach directly across the road, a bit wind swept but scenic. Hotel clientele are majority German, which wasn’t a problem but the hotel therefore catered for a German clientele so shows etc not in English. Hotel is a bit out in the sticks, no shops around, but only a short bus ride to Kos Town which was OK. The Staff make this hotel.

Lovely secluded hotel

Reviewed By Tony M

We arrived at the hotel late at night, around 10.30pm, we had eaten on the plane, after travelling all day from Jersey, and was just ready to sleep , we were greeted by the owners Iianis and Ramona who at first seemed a little bit bemused as they didn't know what time we were arriving, and were told that the company who we had booked with had given us a semi basement room, which we never knew about, not really what you want to hear after a days travelling, but Ramona offered us a room with a view as an upgrade, which we were happy to pay the 15 euros for . we were told all the things about meals and was handed the obligatory piece of paper with the details of the hotel which is expected , so all good there. the room was a welcoming and delightful area just right for the two of us with a view over the pool on the centre block facing reception on the 3rd floor. on the first morning we went down for breakfast and saw what was on offer, at first , it wasn't what you would expect, but as we were on holiday we weren't too bothered,, we eventually found out how the system worked, and enjoyed our first breakfast , we looked around to see who our other guests were none who were English,, and noticed there may not be enough sunbeds out for everyone, so we bagged a couple of sunbeds after breakfast just in case.... we needn't have worried, as after around 20 minutes, all the others had either left for the beach or stayed in the lobby on their phones with the free WiFi. at this point the sun was blazing around 9.30am and up to 24 degrees , the pool looked rewarding and soon we were the only ones in it. we enquired about sightseeing and trips which were easily organised for us , and we eventually took the offer of hiring a motor bike for 3 days all of no problem for Ramona to sort out with no fuss, we were both warming to her and their cultures of how they operate. most evenings we were the only ones in the bar, and a pool table and football table were the only forms of entertainment, both of which we played most nights, it did seem tho that the other guests who were enjoying themselves also, didn't really take to the offers of using the bar, just the free WiFi. we were on holiday, so the bar was very useful for cocktails which were made exactly how we liked them and the odd beer and wine which went down well. it is a peaceful and relaxing hotel, with friendly staff willing to help out where they could, the food wasn't as good as what we were expecting, but it was still OK for the evening meal and it did state that it was basic food, so we just took it that it was how it was. it was the end of the season, and they were closing on the day we left, we will go back to this hotel, but maybe go for the bed and breakfast option so we can get out and visit the island more and enjoy the traditional Greek food, as my wife prefers fish which wasn't on the menu much.& also to see some more of the beautiful islands and visit the other Islands. if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday this is the place to go, quiet, friendly, nice pool and bar and rooms , all in the middle of the Kos countryside. we made friends with Iianis and Ramona & Gregory (their son) and hopefully they will remember us when we return.
