Hever Castle & Gardens

Hever Castle was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th-century castle which houses historic 16th-century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or castle entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the head gardener and his team. Family fun includes jousting tournaments each summer, one of our most popular events.

The Hever Castle Golf Club experience is a blend of a terrific golf course in a wonderful part of Kent. The view from the 12 tee, a slight downhill par three, is similar in many ways to the view of the par three 12th hole at Augusta National. Go play Hever Castle GC today….and tomorrow, if you have time!

St Peter's Church

St Peter's Church is the parish church of Hever village. The Church is Grade 1 listed and there has been a church on this site for nearly 900 years. Volunteers open the church on a daily basis between 9.30 am and 10 am and close the church at around 5pm or dusk in the winter. The church contains many interesting features including the tomb of Queen Anne Boleyn's father, Sir Thomas Bullen. In the chancel is the Brass of Margaret Cheyne from C15th. Entrance is free but donations, placed in the safe at the rear of the church, towards the upkeep of this historic church are very gratefully received. No central government or central church funding is received and all income derives from church service collections, fund raising and donations from visitors. **Under current Covid-19 restrictions the church is not open to visitors. We are only permitted to open for private prayer 08.30 to 09.30 every Tuesday or for Church Services. Please check our website for details **

Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum

The new museum, opened in 2015, describes the history of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry regiments from 1794 to the present day. The museum is designed for visitors of all ages, with many displays, four touch screens, and reconstructions of a WW1 Gallipoli trench and the interior of a WW2 Cromwell tank turret. Outside the museum we display a Saladin armoured car and a 25 pounder field gun. Access to the museum is included in the admission to Hever Castle.
