Lac du Capitello

We kept climbing as we were at Melo already. The way is shorter but wilder and you are a bit more tired as well. Take off your shoes, this cold bath for your feet will help you for going down. Take your lunch with you and enjoy the view somewhere around the way. Make sure to take back all your plastic and paper. It is a natural park and it was nicely clean.

Vallee du Tavignano

Only by foot to visit. Ages old path with many different aspects of Corsican mountain animals and flowers and geology. Many locals use this as running place. We were (being flat landers ) with our age, exhausting en overweight sensitive to overheating. 2 liters per person for a walk which took us 5 instead of 3 hour is minimum when temperatures is 28 Celsius

Lac du Melo

Reviewed By supertearz - New York City, United States

We were quite challenged by this hike. My hotel receptionist said it was easy, but I’d call it a moderate hike (I’m in good shape, go to the gym every week but do not hike much). Once we got to Melo, I decided we definitely were not continuing to Capitello. Beautiful views of the valley but I was a bit underwhelmed by the lake itself to be honest. It took perhaps 3 hours round trip. Definitely try to park your car as close to the trail head as possible, you'll be tired afterwards!
