To be fair our expectations was high upon arrival. We had heard a lot about kiwi-experience that runs through New Zealand, for example that you meet a lot of people to travel with, get discounts on activities and get to meet locals who gives you local tips ;). We started on Robinson Crusoe island which is standard, we got picked up at our hostel by a taxi and apparently it was just me, my boy friend and another luckily very kind lady. However when we arrived to the island and checked in, our itinerary said we had to pay 70$ per person for a meal plan which turned out to be 84$ per person. I called Feeje experience and all they said was that they hadn't updated the itinerary (or the website) in a while... This was only one of many things that apparently was "wrong" in the itinerary. We felt a little bit fooled since we booked the tour expecting the schedule that was publiced on the website to be correct. Unfortunately more thing has been excluded than just changed to other activities. Overall we found the tour to be very overpriced likewise we're the dinner we were expected to buy at the resorts we stayed at. Luckily our guides understood us and made a few stop for us to buy food at other places. Without our tour guide and our driver the tour wouldn't have been much. Those two really did a good job.

This is not a lux experience - but it is a great tour that gets you lots of activities in a short period of time at an exceptional value since the tour includes, your guide, a driver, accommodations, and some meals plus the activities. The village visit was an honor; to be welcomed into their home, to learn the customs, and enjoy the great feast they put out for us was an amazing experience. The accommodations on Robinson Crusoe, were basic, but exceptionally clean and Uprising resort was great. The only complaint, or perhaps observation, is we did spend a lot of time driving. Although I am not sure how the tour could be reworked to experience all the great Fijian activities without the driving, but that would be me only suggestion for improvement.

Disclaimer: this is a medium-hard hike, we got caught in a downpour and you've got to be in pretty good shape to do it and have an adventurous attitude!! This day was GREAT. Started with Peni picking us up from our hotel around 8am, drove us to the mountain (up some exciting dirt roads for his small car!) and we had upbeat, informative conversation the whole way. Once we got to the village that owns the park at the foot of the hike, we used the bathroom (in *ok* bathrooms) and got paired with our guide Leps from the village who was just as friendly as Peni. The hike was beautiful and definitely challenging. It's pretty steep but the views are breath-taking! Peni and Leps helped us through a river current and taught us so much about their country throughout the hike. We picked and ate guavas along the way and were able to stop whenever we wanted for water, snacks, photos, or to rest. We highly recommend bringing snacks because we didn't get back to the village for lunch until 4pm and it was our snacks that carried us through the hike! It rained our entire hike down the mountain, but Leps and Peni helped us stay in high spirits and enjoy every bit of it. They helped us a lot too, as it was really muddy on the way down. Eating at the village at the end was also really enjoyable. The people were kind and the food was tasty. Then Peni dropped us back at our hotel and we exchanged emails to keep in touch. He was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire day with him and Leps. We never ran out of things to talk about, learned a lot, and enjoyed the mountain to the fullest. Highly recommend!! More FYIs: -You should definitely bring and wear long hiking pants -You should bring a change of clothes incase you get wet (from rain or waterfall) -Snacks are helpful and lots of water is important
