Deep in the woods an amazing getaway
Reviewed By momsenguptaWe didn’t know what to expect. Everyone told us Wayanad Kerala is lovely - and it truly is. But this resort takes it to another level. The remoteness of the place only adds to its mystique. It’s practically the last place where the road ends and sometimes you feel you’re the first person breaking a path through the woods to reach bamboo creek. It lives up to its name - borders by a creek and surrounded by huge stands of elegant bamboo. The cottages are so far apart that you only see them if you look for them. The decor is minimal and classy. The food is outstanding - and the quantities had us gasping for breath. Everything - almost everything - we are there was also grown there, adding to the charm of bamboo creek. The only downside I can think of is the lack of activities during your stay. Some may not call that a downside ? but the owners are working on things to do, and more things to do - but we were happy spending three days not doing a lot of things!

The food is nice and can be customised as per our needs. There are activities both outdoor and indoor to spend some time with your friends and family.

Out of 6 visits this time I was little disappointed with the food and also the maintenance. Swim pool was horrible due to water contamination. Less staffs makes us to feel bad. In restaurant we are very much satisfied with the service given by Mr.Leo. On my view he and the chef are the big assets of this property. Mr.Leo acts accordingly wat u expect. After our request manager Mr.Jineesh supported a lot and make our trip to get cherish. Anyhow we observed some inconveniences but my request to the property management to maintain this wonderful property for our further visits.

The panoramic location, fresh country air, tranquility and beautifully maintained premises make this a ideal holiday location. The 10 rooms are well furnished with many a classic item of furniture.

Reviewed By Ananya KThis place is beautiful!Not only is it situated in the most serene location overlooking tea plantations and having a beautiful stream running behind it,but the accomodation in itself is a pleasure to stay at!The cottages are well furnished,clean and actually luxurious .The food and hospitality of Mr Shaji and his wife are truly the highlights of this place.The authentic Kerala style food is tantalising to the tongue especially for non vegetarians!Please do try out the authentic dishes that they suggest.The desserts are very good too ,served around a bonfire adding to the whole experience.A barbecue grill is availaible making it perfect for parties .The hospitality of Mr Shaji and his wife make the place akin to home and is genuinely commendable that each guest feels this while staying at their property.This place is a must must visit and anyone wondering whether to stay here or not while reading the reviews,i insist that you do so!Its a wonderful experience

Beware of Food Poison
Reviewed By bilals324I usually doesn't like to give negative reviews but this is something happened to me and my family. We were 6 people and stayed here for 2 nights (Dec 16-18, 2021). There is no restaurant inside this resort but they cook based on our requirements. We ordered 2 full grill chicken for dinner. The very same night all of us fell extremely sick. All of us were continuously vomiting and having diarrhoea throughout the night and next day morning. We informed the resort regarding our situation. There was no effort from their side atleast to provide us with some basic medication or to get a doctor. We didn't know this place. Our home is in Kochi (7 hour drive). We only went ourselves and got necessary medicines to check out on time. During check out, we discussed the situation with the manager. He told that the same food was served to others too and they don't have any issues. It sounded like we were cooking up stories. He was more interested in making us pay for the defected food served last night. None of us had the energy to argue. We settled the bill in full and left. Atleast out of courtesy they should have waived off the restaurant bill or reduced. Nothing was done. I don't want this to happen to anyone and ruin your complete experience like what happened to us. Our one week long trip was reduced to 3 days because of this and good thing we didn't have any kids in our trip.

A bit pricey - but good hotel at a good location
Reviewed By Sachin PI pulled into this hotel in order to take a break from my drive. Vaduvanchal is still a small town in Wayanad district and as I drove down from Devala side did not want to drive further to bigger towns like Kalpetta or Sulthan Bathery. The hotel is just a bit ahead (towards Sulthan Bathery) from the main junction and easily visible. The hotel check in process was simple and straight forward. The room I had been allotted was spacious and looked well maintained and air conditioned. It had a big clean bed, big cupboards and small table providing some snacks and a team maker. There was a working intercom and good LCD TV which provided most of the popular channels. Clean bath room and toilet with hot & cold running water was available along with toiletries. The best part of the room was the wide window at the far end which offered very clear view of the mountains. The view is really good especially during rain fall or with mists/fogs. The sad part was that the window did not seem to be open able, and the rooms did not have a balcony as well. The rooms also had Wi-Fi connectivity but did not find it really fast. I was in for two surprises; both related to food. The hotel kitchen seems to close down a bit early in the evening (08:00PM) and when I called into place my dinner order I was in for a shock. Luckily the kitchen staff managed to make up some simple items and I did not have to walk around the small town in rain looking for a restaurant. Next day; I was informed that breakfast would only be starting at 09:00AM which again was a bit late when compared to other hotels. As I wanted to start early, I gave this a miss. But "forewarned is forearmed" and this problem can be easily overcome with some advance planning. I would recommend this hotel, especially for tourists or travellers who do not want to stay in crowded places or big towns.
