Great short break

We spent 3 great nights on vacation, we have stayed many times over the years and always experienced a very good level of service and value for money pub style food. The area is outstanding and rooms very comfortable, the fabric of the hotel is looking tired now however the great staff make up for this in particular 'Paul' who is a credit to the Hotel with bags of energy and humour. Thanks to the team at The Beach House.

What's not to like!

Marine House is enviably positioned at the landward end of the spit leading to Hurst Castle and only 10 minutes walk from the restaurants in the centre of Milford. It also has its own parking. Our room was Dolphin Bank. It has a lovely view West along the promenade and out to sea. The quality of the fittings etc in the room is exceptional; more the standard that you would put in your own home than you would expect in a B&B. Mandy was delightfully welcoming and helpful. She and her husband clearly have a passion to make sure that their guests have a great stay. We would certainly like to stay here again.

This place is absolutely fantastic! Thoroughly recommend it. We stayed a night in the hay loft - super clean, comfy and great decor. Wish we could've stayed longer. The breakfast brought to our room was such a treat - freshly baked croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit, yoghurt, bread and cereal. All served in gorgeous pottery! Great location - really peaceful and 5 mins walk from Milford where there is a great selection of restaurants. Will be recommending it to all my friends!

This is now the Lazy Lion. We stayed in the Deluxe Room which was spacious and clean with a large comfy bed and great walk in shower. The staff were exceptionally friendly, with the owner even driving us to our evening venue when our taxi did not arrive. Service and breakfast choices excellent. The pub is also in a great location for walking to the coast and the many nearby restaurants. Parking available at rear. Thank you for a fab stay!

Lovely Location for a Family Break

Reviewed By AndrewFoot

We stayed in a Signature Lodge with Hot Tub at Shorefield last week and had a really good family holiday there. With 6 adults and 3 kids, we were a big group but the lodge felt plenty big enough and was well equipped and comfortable throughout. The bed was a little bit hard and on checking rooms before leaving we found some sweets and clothes under a bed that weren't ours which raised a couple of questions about the cleaning; but the rest of it was spotless and in good condition. We partly booked Shorefield because of the location and nearby places to visit with a 2 and 3 year old but I was surprised how much time we enjoyed on site. The hot tub was great as was the indoor swimming pool. We only ventured to the outdoor pool once but that was also really nice on a warm day. We paid extra for our son to do the Stuff a Bear and it was well worth the money. The people who ran it were enthusiastic and made it fun, and he was pleased with his Snow Monster teddy (even if his cousin he was sharing a room with wasn't quite as enamoured when he saw it!). The evening entertainment for the kids was also good, and just having space on the floor to run around and dance to some music was lovely for them, and good for parents to sit back and watch as the kids burnt off some energy. The only real complain we had was the food on site. We ordered food to be delivered to our lodge and it was pretty expensive - over £100 for 6 mains and a couple of desserts - and it took 3 phonecalls and 3 deliveries before we got everything we ordered. The people we spoke to on the phone to sort if were very helpful and it was quickly resolved but still a bit of a pain. In all, a lovely family break and a good park in a nice location. The highest praise I can give is that our son didn't want to leave and is already telling us he wants to go back to the holiday lodge. Thanks to all at Shorefield who made his first holiday special.
