Beyond our expectations

We stayed for a night as we were going to a wedding nearby and it was the best decision we could have made! Immediately we felt welcome and the owners were absolutely 10/10. We hadn’t found a taxi to bring us home and everyone rallied round trying to find us one it was very sweet. The room was lovely and clean and the beds were super comfortable. The shower worked really well and of course the views! The breakfast was fabulous, couldn’t fault it. I couldn’t recommend this place more. If a quaint bnb with fantastic staff and the country feel is what you’re after this is the place to be Thank you, we will be back!

YHA Eyam

This captivating Victorian folly resembles a tiny turreted castle perched on the hillside overlooking historic Eyam. Two thirds of Eyam's population was wiped out during the Great Plague. Trace the tale as you wander around the village, or enjoy the excellent walking around the surrounding White and Dark Peak. Delicious home-cooked meals are available at this fully licensed hostel, a great location for cheap weekend breaks and Peak District activity breaks.

Great accommodation for hiking

The YHA's location is wonderful, being right on a hill (a bit of a trek to climb up though) and next to some superb public footpaths. The view from the YHA down the hill is breath-taking and such a lovely view to wake up to. The staff were all very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The rooms, toilets, showers, and shared spaces were all kept very clean and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty in certain parts of the hostel, but we were warned of this upon booking, so it was no hassle.

Cottage with beautiful views

Just back from 3 night stay. Cottage was really nice. Lovely and clean. Rooms cleaned every day even with covid situation. Room has a small kitchen area with fridge which was a nice touch. Breakfast very good choice and served fresh and hot. Nothing seems too much trouble for owner Andrew. The cottage is well placed for walks and trips in peak district. The views are stunning. Visited Barrel inn next door for evening meal over two nights. Excellent meals and lovely pub. Visited Chatsworth house which was amazing, if you can don't miss it.
