A D Rattray Whisky Shop

Explore Scotch whisky and its fascinating heritage when you visit our home on the West Coast of Scotland, where a warm welcome awaits you at the A. D. Rattray Whisky Shop. Established in 1868, discover more about A. D. Rattray, our story, our history and our whiskies. Learn how we work with distilleries from across Scotland, sourcing interesting single casks and spirit, and view our working Sample Room, where our casks are meticulously evaluated for quality. As single cask whiskies are at the heart of what we do, you will find two casks “on tap” in our Cask Room. Take in the atmosphere of a traditional whisky warehouse and taste whisky straight from the cask. Have a bottle filled from the cask and sealed in wax, add your hand-written label to complete your personalised whisky. Escape into the world of A. D. Rattray when you book one of our Tasting Experiences and browse an ever-changing range of A. D. Rattray whiskies in our Whisk Shop, including many shop exclusives.

Best potatoes I’ve had! I love roasting them and air frying them as chips. They last and stay fresh for ages! Much cheaper and better value for money than any supermarket. Great to support such lovely people and a local business. Excited to try their other products on my next visit.

At The Jar we specialise in single malt scotch whisky, with whiskies from all of Scotland's working distilleries, and some closed one's. In addition to our range of single malts we also offer a selection of Scottish produced gins, this is a sector that is growing and proving to be very popular with Scotland leading the way with huge number of top quality gins. Our aim is to provide single malts and gins that are not commonly available in supermarkets, with prices ranging from £24 to over £5000 we offer an interesting and varied range of drinking whiskies right through to rare and collectable bottles. We host whisky and gin tasting sessions and master classes for tour groups and private parties. These can be themed to suit your needs and held at time that best fits your plans.
